As of June 2017 gift certificates are no longer reimbursed. Link to buy gift certicates
According to this thread in the Alaska forum the reimbursement of Alaska Club memberships is no longer a problem. To see how much of your annual credit you've used, log in to AmEx, select the card in question, choose "Membership->Benefits" off the menu bar, scroll down to see the travel credit benefit. (with thanks to Lumpylump76)
Tickets cancelled within 24 hours are refunded back to the card used for the purchase.Tickets for travel dates > 60 days out can be deposited to your wallet when cancelled (this has not been true for some time). Change fees may apply depending on your status. Change fees are waived for MVP Gold and MVP Gold 75k members according to this page: https://www.alaskaair.com/content/mi...ID:MileagePlan (expand "service benefits" towards the bottom of the page). The wallet funds will expire one year after the issue date of the original ticket.

2/15 $100, still NOT reimbursed as of 2/21
What did I do wrong?! I called AMEX to change my airline (as I already changed it once back in January), went online to confirm that the airline was changed to Alaska (change reflected immediately), then purchased the gift card. I'm still not showing any reimbursement :[

Not sure at this point, but I'd give it a bit more time to see if it comes thru.

You posted this in the Alaska Airlines thread. You will want to review the wikipost at the top of the United Airlines thread. MPX transactions are no longer reimbursed and ticket purchases are generally not reimbursed:

1x100$ AS gift certificate
purchased: 2/23
posted: 2/24
reimbursed: 2/26
I had the card opened in mid December, I got credit in 2016, 2017.. Is it possible to get another one in 2018 and then cancel/downgrade without paying the annual fee?

Newbie question - Does AMEX do partial reimbursements? I spent $102 directly my Platinum card for AS taxes and got reimbursed a while back. If I buy a $100 AS GC, will I then be reimbursed $98?

I paid $74.18 to upgrade to a premier class seat. Reimbursed four days later.

DP: Not sure if this is already known, but AS GC triggered the 5X airlines bonus as well. Getting an extra 1k MR is icing.
