Alas, no. Should I complain when I connect through YYZ on my way home next week?

Even things AC claim to have sent do not always arrive SE packages from 2015 for example.

I get how leaving a car sitting around a few weeks without being used, especially while it's cool is not a great idea but are VIPs that rare? I guess I don't see where the advantage is for AC to provide this service to the lowly Elites... or lower.

I was being facetious... yes, VIPs are rare, and if one is a true AC VIP, their BP will show VIP - AC*G.

They're not THAT rare.

I'd say 50% of the time I'm in the YYZ concierge office (which, granted, means something's wrong, so it's not a quick in-and-out), I see at least one VIP.

The incremental cost of driving a J passenger is very low for AC (or the other partners who contribute to the program), but the "wow AC drove me!" factor, or the chance that they might buy a BMW, etc., can contribute to future revenue.

As a participating member of FlyerTalk, I believe you know what the answer of this should be.

I'm having trouble understanding this. What's the point of a limo service for connecting pax. Isn't it easier to walk?

To allow:

1) BMW to sell more cars
2) To make people feel special
3) To copy cat what other carriers are doing (such as Lufthansa for First Class)

You know, some people don't want to be mentioned in the celebrity spotting thread

I did get the service once, had a 2.5 hour connection time that stretched into 5+ hours. In hind sight, Would have preferred the walk that day.

I had the the private service at EWR last year going from A to C. Driver saw that I was Star Gold and offered my wife and I a ride. Got lots of looks when we went through the gate we were supposed to depart from at Terminal C. I guess that made me a "quasi-VIP"

1) I can't imagine how getting a ride in the back seat of a car through an airport ramp would influence me to consider buying that brand of car.

2) Some might feel insulted at being selected as being a prospective buyer of a mid/low-end product such as a BMW.

Any estimates in terms of what % of J passengers get this service? I have yet to experience it. (Though perhaps that's because most of my connections are US-to-Int'l.)

I believe the car transfer is only available for select pax connecting from domestic to int'l destinations.

My guesstimate would be along the lines of

(2 cars x 2 transfers/hour x 10 hours) / (30-50 int'l flights* x 20-40 J pax per flight x 50% connecting pax) = ~5% of pax

* depending on which flights are eligible for the service

Of course the estimate is somewhat skewed since the service is mainly targetting at AC VIPs. While I'd assume that most VIPs fly J (and the % may therefore still be accurate), the odds of getting the car transfer as a non-VIP J pax are probably much lower.

Oh I didn't realize they only had 2 cars. This analysis makes sense. Thanks!

My information regarding number of cars may be outdated, but that's the information I was given while chatting with a concierge about the service.
