When you arrive at Sky Harbor Terminal 4 on WN, go into the terminal and look for the folks in purple blazers and straw hats. They are the courtesy greeters, and they are very helpful in giving advice about all kinds of things. Ask them for the best way to get to the AA gates in Terminal 3.
Once upon a time there was a walkway between T4 and T3, but airport construction for the TSA search lines eliminated it, I believe.
You could in theory take the escalators down to the ground floor and just walk the 100 yards west from T4 to T3 if you are traveling light.
When you arrive on WN in T4, you will have to exit the sterile area. When you arrive at T3, you will have to process through TSA again. As UVU Wolverine mentions above, Pre is only a theory for the TSA at PHX.
Finally, keep in mind the information about this thread about the Sky Harbor TSA and plan accordingly.

All flights on US metal arrive and depart at T4.
T4 is fairly large and has several US piers, so your flight may arrive in the high "A" gates and depart on a low "B" gate, which will require some hiking and use of the travelators, but they should all be in T4.
If your flight has a US flight number but is on UA metal, then you would visit T2, which would require a bus to get to or from T4.

Connection time in PHX from AS to US
Will we be able to make the connection from AS arriving at 1:47PM to a US flight departing at 3:00PM?

In a nutshell... You need to get off the plane, which can take 10-15 min, depending where you are seated. Then you need to get to the T2 curb, and catch a bus to T4 (if you happen to just miss a bus you'd wait for the next).
Once in T4, you'd need to get upstairs, then go through security, and make your way to the US gate (could be a haul if at the end of the high A's or high B's).
I'd feel much safer having a 3 hour connection between terminals at PHX. Even then, things could still get thrown off.

Very doubtful. Is the US flight the last flight of the day to your destination?

If US to US, you could more likely make a connection in 1:15, so long as the incoming flight is on time. You wouldn't have to worry about security, transferring terminals, etc, just getting from one gate to the other.

Is there a reason you just don't book US for your whole itinerary?

PHX Connections
Hi, sorry if this is the wrong spot. Searched the forum couldn't find much.
Anyway, I am connecting form MEX to SEA via PHX. Looks like international flights land in Terminal 4 and I am connecting to Alaska Air to Terminal 2. Not extremely familiar with PHX, is 2 hours enough for the connection? I had to call AS for a seat assignment and the agent was really worried about the times, and not something I usually am concerned about but when I looked it up I am connecting at complete opposite ends, can't get any further. Does CBP have a tendency to bottleneck at certain times? Flight arrives at 9:30am and connection at 11:30. I do have Global Entry which of course usually helps move things along.
Thanks

I assume you are arriving PHX on AA. If so the MCT is 1hour- per the below chart. Even if CPB slows down you should have plenty of time especially with your GE. Also, there are moving walkway's between terminals, you can cross that airport in no time.

I've only flown domestically through PHX but with GE you should be fine unless you get unlucky and get sent to secondary which can sometimes take awhile. You can take the skytrain to terminal 3 then the covered walkway to T2. Having pre-check should hopefully speed up screening once you get tio T2 as well.
The only thing I'm not sure about is if you have a checked bag whether or not Alaska Air has a drop off counter after customs or if you'll have to drop it at their check-in counter in T2.

As soon as you arrive in PHX and deplane, look around for one of the airport volunteers.
Airport volunteers wear purple blazers and (usually) straw boaters.
Tell the volunteer that you need to connect to an Alaska flight out of Terminal 2 departing in XX minutes, and ask them if they can provide you with assistance.
Depending on the volunteer and their level of personal gumption and ability to navigate the airport, you will get help from them ranging from directions on how to best get yourself to T2 to a surreptitious ride in an airport van across the tarmac to the western terminal.
Good luck!
