Not sure about this flight but the next one out, N128UA is currently scheduled to fly UA856 HKG-SFO on Aug 9 as it comes out of reconfiguration.

IME, the new configs aren't acually flying the NRT route yet. It's causing problems with booking & reserving seats & the NRT check-in desk wasn't able to predict when the service will actually start (as of 8/19).

Maybe the US should take a hint from Japan:

All Nippon Airways Ordered to Stop Running Premium Seat Ads

Aug. 25 (Bloomberg) -- All Nippon Airways Co., Japan's largest domestic carrier, was ordered by the country's fair trade commission not to run an advertisement it used earlier this year for premium seats that it failed to introduce as promoted.

The airline failed to introduce new premium class seats in April and May as it had shown in the ads it ran in local newspapers in February and March, the fair trade commission said in a release on its Web site today.

All Nippon Air, also known as ANA, said at the start of May it removed the ads, or corrected them to show they weren't available on all planes and were being introduced gradually, according to a statement released through the Tokyo Stock Exchange today.

Anyone know any plans for upgrading the 777 from LAX-LHR (and back). Seat map shows the old 777 configuration but seems like this has to be one of UA's longest European bound flights.

777's will not be converted until next year.

None, and even then there MIGHT only be a few flying next year so to nail down an actual specific flight/route/date...

Would be a total gamble.

Hello All,

I'd just like to inject a quick reminder and echo FlyinHawaiian's post a page or so back. The intent (and convenience) of this thread is to report filghts that you have taken or are aware of that are flying newly-configured planes. Please keep the speculation talk as far as routes and a/c types being retrofitted in the respective threads for their a/c types.

Thanks all!

Noted. Thank you.

This isn't "speculation". FT members confirmed in the "new plane config" thread that they had indeed been on board and traveled to EZE on the new planes.

You have UA 856 listed as both SFO-HKG (confirmed) and HKG-SFO (rumored).

I can confirm HKG-SIN and v/v is now a "regular" route for this aircraft from talking to the HKG TAs (and flying on N128UA last night)

Of course not when I flew it on Tuesday evening (Hong Kong time). Same old dog chow. ((It was the same aircraft as my ORD-HKG flight. I could tell by the rip in the seat on 1A.)
