In addition, UA941 is shown with 23xx tail numbers for the next two days, but the seat map for Thursday actually shows the 3-3-3 Y class even with the old tail number. Any idea what gives here?

I'm flying UA941 next week and was curious if I can check which config I'd end up getting... but with these two sites saying one thing and flightaware saying it's a 744 (heh), I'm not sure whom to believe!
A correct observation. If you read this thread you will see that it can change anytime up to departure.

Wiki has been down for the past two days. Anyone know what's going on? Maybe they're doing a major overhaul of the site to add CO aircraft being reconfigured.

If only ~55% are new config is there a sked for completion of the fleet?

Seems to be taking an eternity?

Flew ORD-IAD on 12/15. It was the new 777. My cnx CO flight rebooked into F for some reason. Nice seat-but WOW-the C seats look T-I-G-H-T!

I find it funny. UA is in a no win situation. If they take seats out so it is not 2-4-2 then people would b*tch and moan that there are not enough seats so upgrade will never happen. They put the seats in and people b*tch and moan that they are too tight.

Absolutely right here. It's all about expectations and it seems the expectation has emerged amongst certain elite flyers that they are entitled to an upgrade whenever they fly and whatever fare class they buy. Having satisfied themselves of that entitlement, they then further believe that Business Class should be better than UA deems it necessary to offer to be competitive.

Dream on!

This is nonsense! There really is a simple solution. All they have to do is reconfigure their entire fleet to F seats and service and charge G fares.

Problem solved! (you can thank me later)

UA803 NRT-BKK 23Dec was swapped from a B777 to 77Q overnight. So it went from 12 to 8 F seats, and for the first time this year, my SWU-based D=>NF may not clear.

Easy solution: add one more row, go 7 across! Downsizing E+ by 2 rows in the process.

and you don't think that would generate complains (and lose 16-18 revenue seats).
