"Well, gee, they didn't take everything from you."
Brilliant.

As someone who flies 125K/year and being SEA based and with AS now giving upgrades to Delta GM+ I think it is probably time to consider a status match to Plat and switch over.

Between the TSA and United's latest "enhancements," I feel as though I've been groped twice on the same day!

1P- : *G > *S ?
His job is not hard...as we did not express our anger and disappointment against UnitedPR.
What we don't like is how United treating us...
Surprising, United did not touch 2P at all (or do they really have anything to touch them).
What I worry about is they will move 1P- from *G to *S (as it is up to the sponsoring airlines).
If they drop 1P- to *S, I am definitely leaving...

At the same time it seems strange to say that it is "obvious to all elites that this diminishes benefits" while also identifying groups to whom the change is actually beneficial. :-:

While it will not affect me personally, I am unhappy with the attitude of UA and their "See how the elite program updates benefits you"...it is obvious to all elites that this diminishes the benefits previously provided. There are no increased benefits to anyone except those flying 150,000 miles per year (more CR1s)...but CR1s are useless to me!
I am waiting for the other shoe to drop!

I just hit 1k on EQM. As a 2p this year I noticed a drastic reduction of UDUs once the merger went through. Next year I will just hit 75k and fly Frontier for the remaining 25k. I can't remember the last time I got a UDU on a hub to hub flight on UA so going forward Frontier will get all my hub to hub business (at least I'll get free TV and snacks) and UA will get the rest of my business. Hopefully as a 1k I will see more upgrade success to non-hubs. I'm pretty PO'd about losing 4 regionals. Now I gotta figure out a different way to upgrade when I fly the family to HI. These changes suck and guarantee that I will fly 25% less with UA next year.

Blame that one on CO. They've been spin doctors for years:
"enhancement" = FF program cut
"not offered in First Class" = we have them, but you have to pay
"purported promotion" = real promotion that got into the wrong hands
"exited the runway" = ran off the runway and turned into a fireball
I would expect to see more of that sort of thing to come...

Folks, I have always found it best to write snail-mail to a VP (in this case VP of Mileage Plus). You receive a snail-mail letter in return from someone in their office.
I think this would be more effective than writing 1K or 1P voice. It's certainly what I'm going to do. It takes a few more minutes and costs $0.44 cents (or what, I don't know, what does it cost to mail a letter these days). But I have confidence in my voice actually being heard when I do the snail mail.
____________
Still waiting to hear ONE benefit from the merger from my perspective. ONE. I want just ONE. United flew to every place I wanted to go to before. Continental doesn't serve my home airport. No reason to ever step on a (former) CO plane/route. Take away, take away, take away. NOTHING is better by this merger for me...NOTHING.

I doubt if UA cared about it.
Have you seen how full flights have been this year, or the length of standby's on the monitors?
They will get away with it....so who's going over to the dAArkside...

Speaking of the future, United should thread lightly while reducing FF benefits for it customers considering the thousands of reported cancellations by passengers of all U.S. airlines who refused to endure the body scanners and/or the groping by TSA.
Those cancellations are going to put a major dent in airline profits, especially United's financial statements because United is now the largest domestic air carrier.

I disagree. When UA tried to take away CR1s last year, it was quite effective to vent on this thread, followed by emails to 1kvoice, as well as facebook and twitter messages. If a portion of the people had just left, we may not have CR1's today.
I hope people complain about these changes - just don't limit it to the FT board. Use facebook, and of course email 1k voice.
Post your responses here from 1k voice.
My suggestion is to ask for a pair of CR1's every 25k miles for anyone who had 75k+ eqm's the year before.

E + is the only thing keeping me on UA
I have to agree with everyone on E +. If that goes away, I dont have enough motivation to fly UA anymore over anyone else. All of my flights are 1-1.5 hrs, but I am tall and have bad knees, so the E + is HUGE for me (along with UDU on non-bus traveler flights like DEN-BZN). In addition, I use most of my miles to fly the family to Europe every couple of years...if E+ on those planes is gone, again why would I use UA?
As for the rest, I guess I got lucky last year with DEQS to get to 1k. I wont make it this year. Usually I hit about 80-90 segments, so from what people are saying if I can get the 90 EQS and hit that new tier (which is really like a 1k lite), I should be in good shape for UDU on these non-hub routes I fly...

silly question... what do you plan to do with the CR1's while not flying on UA aircraft?

If you only fly 70K a year, I don't think it will affect you that much, since you aren't or wouldn't be 1K. In that case, one is still going to be WAAY down the totum pole for upgrades as a 1P, behind GS, MM1K, Priority 1K, 1K, MM1P THEN 1P. You'd have the CR1's, but they might be very unusable.
