It’s the same post on FT across all of the domestic legacy airlines… It shocks me that there isn’t some sort of corporate policy governing this. Whether or not you get a PDB really seems to be “if FA feel like it.”

I called the 1K customer service date and asked about the PDB policy. They said in so many words that there is no official policy. It’s up to the FA discretion. The fact is Covid gave United the reasoning for cutback of services. Now that the pandemic is largely over the FAs got used to not doing PDB and don’t feel they should resume.

I got my screwdriver and they gave me the old dirty look like I was a three headed alien

In fairness after a few screwdrivers i have been known to think I saw three headed aliens...although am hoping the FAs did not have a few too many screwdrivers

Does the fact that FA's start to get paid in full when the door closes factor into this? Their only real driver is a passion for customer service and/or pride in their job. And we all know how that works at UA...

PBI-EWR 737-900 early morning flight asked FA bringing around tray of water & juice if I could have a bloody mary. She said, "Not now, but once we're up in the air." I replied, "Sounds good. Thanks!" Then when I got up to pee before door closing, I asked the other FA who was in the galley, "Hey, any chance of a bloody mary? I'm heading home and it's been a tough trip." He replied, "We're not allowed to, but I don't care.", and proceeded to make me one.

4/1 UA 3707 RDU-EWR EMB-175: No PDB

It's still really inconsistent on the regional jets.
