It might! I just called UA Mileage Plus. They confirmed that there was a glitch in their system and my 1K status is valid until 01/2023. Whew!

Mine still says 2022 and I have a screenshot of when it used to say 2023, so I definitely didn’t misread. :(

My digital card now shows 1/2023 as well. Took longer than others reported, but looks like things worked out.
I hope it will not go back to 1/2022.

I just flew 2 UA metal round-trips with a PQP of over 3k. (Landed on the return 24+ hours ago)
I only have flown 2 UA segments flown. Wait, now showing 01/2023! I'm still booking flights I need to fly on UA metal (with upgrades as business fares are *way too high*), but now I can target Dec flights as well - as I have satisfied UA's requirements for this year! :tu: Note that I only flew 2 united metal segments for the year to date, but fulfilled the FttF requirement for PQM. (Have additional flights scheduled, but upgrades not clearing...) The 280 PlusPoints are still in place - I'm not sure I should call in, or those may go as well... :p |
Hi WineCountryUA... do I get bonus PQF for trying to calculate my status on FTTF? 😀 Don't think I will requalify Platinum yet going for the gold!
|
Still can’t figure out if I qualified or not. I believe I have met the requirements a month ago but no mails or status changes. I do have 280 more plus points added. Does this mean I successfully qualified with the FTF promo. Would hate to rush myself with 2k points to go in December.

This is very weird - as posted, I first saw 01/2022, then saw 01/2023, and now my card in the app shows 01/2022!

I would definitely call in if you requalified based on the promo terms. We all need to find out what’s going on here.

<snip> The 280 PlusPoints are still in place - I'm not sure I should call in, or those may go as well... :p Your 280 PlusPoints; when do they expire? I received an additional 280 PlusPoints (on top of 200 I still had) on November 5 after qualifying in the FttF promotion; EDIT: correction: the expiration of the PlusPoints is as it should be. The UA website has really NOT improved in clarity over the last few years.... https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...7c4bfc783c.png https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...530d31801c.png |

120 earned in 2020 expiring on 1/31 40 earned in 2020 (reached Plat) expiring on 7/31 40 earned in 2021 for reaching Platinum before the promo (I guess?) + 280 earned for reaching 1K with the promo all show 2023 |

So I am in the position of not meeting the FTTF but will benefit for the Breakout Bonus. I would have made 1K on my own by December 31 as I have a number of flights after November 30.
So the Breakout Bonus will put me 462 points short on meeting the 17,000 PQP for another 20 PlusPoints. Can I use the accelerator to acquire the 462 points? The PlusPoints are worth it to me for the international travel I do each year. I cannot really fit in another trip this year but would do so of that if the only way to get the PQP. Edit: I have United to thank for this realization as I put together my own tracking spreadsheet after the removal of the Future Flight tracking status on the website else I may not have realized this shortfall until December 30! I do not plan on doing anything about the shortfall until after November 30. |

This morning, while reviewing both my MileagePlus profile and my trusty Google sheet tracking my PQF and PQP, I realized that I will not get to the $2,700 (or $3,000) PQP spend for the FTTF promotion. This is also after a few back and forth email exchanges with [email protected] ([email protected]) this week as well.
I just called the United 1K line and spoke with MileagePlus account servicing. The representative said if I did not take another flight the rest of the year I would still retain 1K status through January 2023. She confirmed that with my current 14,324 PQP, on top of the Breakout Bonus 2,250 PQP’s earned once my promotion defaults to that with flights already taken during the promo period, I would cross the PQP only threshold of 15,000 PQP to retain 1K status for another year. What a relief… |

Interesting that for me, United thinks January and July only have 30 days?? (unless it's some odd timezone thing...) |
I earned the threshold PQP amount for FttF on Monday’s flight - Wed. My MP card still showed the Jan. 2022 expiry, and Friday when I checked, showed Jan. 2023. So changed either sometime Thursday or Friday.

Short about 600 PQP, and thanks to an equipment swap that killed Premium Plus from the route on my only remaining trip this month (SFO-LHR, and I had already upgraded R to PZ), I can't upfare without thousands of dollars of overkill. Looks like I'll be making a PQP run this week. CRJ here I come. :sigh:
