Oops - meant this as a direct reply to WineCountryUA. Anyway, I took my qualifying flight last night and checked the link as they suggested but I have not received any additional plus points...

Status updated can take a day or two and PlusPoints an additional 2-3 days.

OK - I am thoroughly confused by the FttF Challenge so thanks in advance...I've read up on this forum to try to make sense of what qualifies and what doesn't. If I am reading all this correctly...My Activity that I am posting below in Activity Tracker #1 is not accurate but rather what is reflected in Activity Tracker #2? See below...difference being taking out the PQP earned from day of departure upgrades (even though they are in fact "PQPs" as defined in the normal tracking)?? Man this is confusing...
Activity Tracker 1: Transaction Date Activity Type Description PQF PQP 11/6/2021 Economy Plus Day of departure upgrade 0 229 11/6/2021 Airline United 0557 IAH - EWR 1 60 11/6/2021 Airline United 1755 EWR - IAH 1 93 10/19/2021 Airline United 0698 LAS - EWR 1 176 10/17/2021 Economy Plus Premier qualifying point upgrade 0 329 10/17/2021 Airline United 1153 EWR - LAS 1 148 8/31/2021 Airline United 1466 PLS - EWR 1 304 8/24/2021 Airline United 1465 EWR - PLS 1 189 Total 6 PQF 1528 PQP Activity Tracker 2: Transaction Date Activity Type Description PQF PQP 11/6/2021 Airline United 0557 IAH - EWR 1 60 11/6/2021 Airline United 1755 EWR - IAH 1 93 10/19/2021 Airline United 0698 LAS - EWR 1 176 10/17/2021 Airline United 1153 EWR - LAS 1 148 8/31/2021 Airline United 1466 PLS - EWR 1 304 8/24/2021 Airline United 1465 EWR - PLS 1 189 Total 6 PQF 970 PQP I need 6 PQF and 1200 PQP (or just 1400 PQP) to re-qualify for Gold so just trying to understand if I have indeed re-qualified per the FttF or if I am still short 230 PQP??? Thanks again all!!! |

You were right. The points posted. Unrelated but related. If I am flying again in two weeks, will I be eligible for bonuses from the other promo? Not that it matters much, I would still need to spend another $4K (which I do not want to do but can buy buying business class) to get 1K but am curious. Thanks!

I just flew 2 UA metal round-trips with a PQP of over 3k. (Landed on the return 24+ hours ago)
I only have flown 2 UA segments flown. Wait, now showing 01/2023! I'm still booking flights I need to fly on UA metal (with upgrades as business fares are *way too high*), but now I can target Dec flights as well - as I have satisfied UA's requirements for this year! :tu: |

Maybe somebody can confirm this regarding upgrades counting for PQP on the FttF promo. Somebody mentioned upfaring by calling in vs going through the upgrade flight option.
So if I go to change flight and look for options that will add cost (upgrade, higher fare in economy, or diff route), this is what shows prior to confirming: https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...33fa9c8351.jpg My previous PQP for the whole trip was 446 so looks like this method should give the extra PQP that would count for this promo? Also, what do others think about paying an extra $780 of my own money to lock in 1K vs most likely staying Platinum unless United decides to extend status in Dec or offer a super easy bonus? |

I'll stay out of specifics on whether you should aim for platinum vs. 1K, except to say that no matter what anyone tells you, whether it is worth it is going to be a personal decision. For some, it might make sense, while for others, may not. Think about the benefits vs. cost and if/how you will use those benefits. For me, I recently spent +$200 to upgrade my wife on a flight that would guarantee she would make FttF and keep her [silver] status. While there was a potential possibility of a late Nov. trip that might have hit the goal anyway, it was up in the air (and actually, now looks fairly unlikely), so seems like it was worth it (I was going to hit this on our next flight anyway). For us, we typically travel with two kids, and typically are able to get E+ on day of departure, so even being able to do that on only a couple of trips, that already makes it worth it, as we'd need to pay for two otherwise (or forgo E+ entirely). Even if we do take that trip, $200 isn't much, IMO, to guarantee we'd both have status. Sure, we could travel without...many do, but we tend to travel enough, that its worth it, and feel like we'll be traveling more again next year. Even as lowly silvers, I'm certain the priority over GMs, not having to wait as long on the phone, etc,. helps when we need to rebooked, etc. Others may rightfully feel differently, but that was my personal calculus. |

just for the record, still not seen PQF for $4K of spend earned just after my statement closing on Sept. 19. Just a data point.

I've spent way over $8K by mid October but only had one PQF posted on 9/21. Still waiting for the second PQF to post..

Bonus PQF may take up to 54 days to post the MileagePlus account but will post no later than December 21, 2021.

What UA committed to was
today - 54 days is 15 Sept (2021) My first $4k was crossed 8/9 - PQF posted 9/21 (43 day turnaround, but really 18 days after statement closed). my next $4k was crossed 9/22. (Now on day 47, or 36 since statement closure, 5 days since another cycle closed). Why is it so different for PQF 2? |
