I think United has determined keeping the lounges open is far cheaper than giving a credit or extension for memberships for people who aren't even flying

In that case, how long until they remove all food/bev from the lounge and make it just a location with some agents?

Is anyone going to bother renewing their membership in this environment?

Gotta have my yellow cheese-type cube product!

It'd be nice to think they'd give Presidential Plus / Club Card holders some kind of reduction, but I doubt that will happen...

My $450 or whatever Club Card fee posts April 1. I planned to cancel anyway, but if they (Chase) do something I will reconsider. Eg 50% off fee. Highly doubt it though.

I was at FLL UC Wednesday morning. I was the only customer and there were five staff.

it makes sense to close than keep the lounge open.

Unless you're lounge staff...

I will be interested to see if United does anything proactively to adjust / refund portion of membership fees ...

Not sure how they would manage any extensions with the Chase Club Card as access runs with Chase’s yearly fee. Maybe one-time reduction in renewal fee proportional to duration of Club closings? Be nicer if reduction based on duration of various country-imposed travel restrictions...

Example - if clubs closed 36 days, a 10% renewal discount. Should be easy to implement (by Chase, that is...).

Tuesday I was at SAT lounge around 12:30pm and was told I was the second person all day...

Added list of UCs, PLs and (any?) ALs to the Wiki - includes open/closed/gone status vs. last year (see list in Wiki for Have you been to every United Club? How many have you been to?)
