The new express service is eastbound flights, which don’t have hot bites.

New change in mid-flight TATL snack options?

Flying FRA to IAD in business and asked FA for a mid flight snack. She indicated no knowledge of any hot snack options or even that they ever existed. I usually fly to EWR or ORD but this seems like BS to me. I wanted grilled cheese or shepherds pie....

The most recent reports (incl my experience beginning of Oct) ex-FRA were tomato soup/grilled cheese sandwiches and vegetarian chili. Shepherds pies were out of LHR IIRC.

Is this maybe a cut back on the shorter TATL East-Coast bound flights?

Recently: nothing ex CDG, but I think that is normal (too short). Sometimes crews don't know what they're catered. FRA should get the normal tomato soup + grilled cheese / something stew, right?

I see them both ways TPAC and westbound TATL and have seen no change thru this week. Choices vary.

I find the westbound TATL crews hate to serve them and thus hate to advertise them. Many times I get an eye roll when asking for one mid flight with the obligatory “it’ll take me 20 minutes to heat up”🙄.
The TPAC Asian crews are more than happy to serve them - and proactively offer them.
They are still alive! For now.

I find on my TPACs they still exist just in very low quantities and often run out fairly early (6 hours before landing on EWR-HKG route)

Europe-IAD/EWR do not receive hot bites and have not for a while. You will find hot bites on Europe-ORD/IAH/DEN/SFO/LAX, though.

I emailed global services from the plane asking for clarification and have yet to hear a response.

I just had the grilled cheese on Thursday HKG-EWR. TATL flights are relatively short, I don't think I'd need one.

On 871 SFO-TPE 77W Saturday, both the shrimp/rice bowl and grilled cheese/tomato soup were printed on the menu and available.
