UA895 - HKG - ORD - Monday August 20th.
Typically, UA896 is the previous flight. However, UA showing UA 2753 from Xiamen as the "previous" flight. Seems odd to me.

Any insight?

N794UA has been in XMN to be Polarized since early July. N792UA is expected to go to XMN after arriving HKG 8/19.

UA69 ARN-EWR, B752 diverting to Bangor, ME arriving 11:13AM. New segment BGR-EWR indicates a 12:00PM departure. That would be a very quick stop.

Must be. ARN-EWR must be near the edge of the envelope for the 752. Probably doesn't take too much in terms of winds or route shifting to put it over the line to force the divert.

Still better than cancelling, BGR and airports like it are set up to be gas and go stops.

UA1 SFO-SIN (23-August) bird strike: returned to SFO and canceled

"Sparky" had a bird strike (lousy article but you get the idea)

United Airlines Flight 1 from San Francisco to Singapore turned around about an hour and a half into the flight and came back to San Francisco because it hit a flock of birds....

So apparently the aircraft hit a flock of 25-30 Ruppel's vultures or common cranes

Pilot may not have considered the bird hit an absolute emergency, and wanted to reduce weight before landing.
