I’m in NRT now and I just saw a 772 getting towed to maintenance. I was not aware of any UA planes overnighting in NRT, I thought all flights to NRT were direct turn. I checked ORD, IAH, EWR, and IAD but all three are showing as on time... not sure what to make of it.

11 June, UA 19 EWR-MXP 4 hours delay. Initially this was blamed on late arriving aircraft (7 minutes late from TLV) but later corrected to show the MX, due to faulty door. Pax deplaned after a while; perhaps they replaced the door? This rolled over onto the return flight from MXP on the 12th of course.

UA does use NRT for line maintenance of some kind. Not sure what, but could be planned?

I don't understand:
L12.40
L12.05
PROT UNDER GG CNI XBT
SKED GRU ORIG 1020P GTD 311 SHIP 2799

Will the original aircraft be fixed or will a replacement aircraft be flown in?

L12.40 >Estimated time of departure is 12:40 late

L12.05 >Estimated time of arrival is 12:05 late

PROT UNDER GG CNI XBT >Information for agents on protected passengers from this delayed flight.

SKED GRU ORIG 1020P GTD 311 SHIP 2799 >Scheduled departure time was 10:20 PM, departure gate 311, aircraft ship number 2799.

Will the original aircraft be fixed or will a replacement aircraft be flown in?
All it says is the ship that's currently scheduled for the flight. It doesn't say whether or not it has been swapped from the original ship.

UA90 EWR - TLV 8:30 late due to aircraft maintenance. Looks like they swapped aircraft and turned UA91 TLV - EWR around quickly and sent it back to TLV. UA90 is taxiing to the runway now.

Todays UA91 TLV - EWR listing a 1:30 delay due to late inbound.

Sun 6/17 UA891 SFO-PVG sCO 789 16:35-20:30+1 was scheduled to use Ship 3960 arriving from HND that morning. Two hours before departure it was rescheduled to use freshly arrived Ship 3958 from MUC (final gate arrival 14:31). However 3958 needed maintenance too and was actually towed away to the hangar then was returned to the same gate (97) in time for cleaning and catering and just an 8-min departure delay (16:43). It took off at 17:07 but turned around at 18:14, dumped fuel and arrived SFO runway/gate at 19:34/19:39. The flight was rescheduled for Ship 3960 after midnight, and finally departed SFO gate at Mon 6/18 01:27, and is now estimated to arrive PVG at Tue 6/19 04:36 (8.1 hours late).

Because this is sCO short turn encountering minimum rest, Tue 6/19 UA858 12:10-08:45 is now scheduled 5 h 50 min delayed to 18:00-13:33.

not a great weekend for HKG:
6/23 UA862 HKG-SFO 77W cancelled due to aircraft maintenance
6/24 UA862 HKG-SFO 77W delayed 9 hours due to late inbound
(they used the frame inbound from SFO on 6/23 to fly an extra sector UA2081 HKG-SFO on 6/24, so had to wait for the arrival of UA869 on 6/24 and turn around immediately)

UA837 SFO-NRT at 2:50 MX delay right now which is blocking the LH A380 I’m on to FRA from parking (giving us about an 1:15 posted delay).

Edit: The A380 eventually got in and we went from 1:15 to 1:45 delay to really about a 2:05 delay because of the traffic behind us when we were ready to pushback. Only landed about an hour late. Someone mentioned they were talking to an airport employee and they said this happens fairly frequent with the end of the G gates because it's the only place the A380s can pull in.
