Because of the rules for airport concessions, there are quite a few to recommend. Many are offshoots of local restaurants. Root Down, Woody Creek are a couple. Udi's.....which is now Etai's has gluten free stuff, too. Modern Market is another. Depends on what you want.

I can't wait for this thread to be useless. So annoying that it keeps popping up. Hopefully that happens in the next week :) When getting food at the airport, go to Elways. It's ridiculously overpriced (as is all airport food), but you can get some chicken and a veg and feel great getting on your flight!

Unfortunately the DEN catering issues also seem to impact flights out of other cities where UA is double-catering the flights in DEN. Had a YYC-ORD yesterday afternoon on UA Express (E175), flight is 3.5 hours, listed in the app as lunch. The "lunch" options were hummus and crackers, or cheese and crackers. It seems the aircraft had gone DEN-YYC-ORD, so was double-catered in DEN. Unfortunate that they aren't arranging to have catering in YYC in instances where they aren't able to get meal catering in DEN, given that there are adequate catering facilities in YYC as an AC hub.

flew last night, went to the club and asked if that situation has been reconciled. united club agent said "yeah that's been resolved weeks ago". well it has not. still only options of hamburger or pizza, albiet served on real plates and silverware. the burger was pretty good actually! but lol.

Flew DEN-YYC tonight with a choice of pizza or hamburger. My friend who flew to YEG got the hummus. Just submitted a complaint and will post back with the resolution.

We are now 2 days past the supposed "fix" of the DEN F catering issues. Any reports from people flying the last couple of days?
|
On UA877 right now. Catering is not fixed. Purser says rumor is now January.

I hate writing in to complain on an issue that should proactively be handled.

I view complaining about this (and the recent domestic meal downgrades) as practically an obligation. UA needs to know it's not okay.
Eat your hamburger, and like it Spaulding --- (You can have either your 1st choice or second, the choice is yours - one from the back or one from the front) and SCHAWD-UP about your meal! They are giving you a ride, what else ya want??? |

I'm sure that UA has gotten the message by now, by thousands of pax's, and either they are really trying to fix the problem, or they just flat out don't care. If they really cared about their upset passengers they would put an announcement out explaining the problem, telling us when it is gonna be fixed, and apologize. So it's easy to figure out that if you don't like it, and feel that paying for first and getting a second class meal isn't your cup-a-tea then you can just go pee up a rope.

It's pretty obvious that United doesn't care. If they did, they'd actually acknowledge that there's a problem and be transparent with the steps they're taking to fix it. IMO there should also be some compensation (minor is fine - the gesture matters more) automatically applied in recognition of the service failure.
The lack of a personal email, phone call, blog post, etc should not be taken as indifference. There are many topics that are problematic for large companies to be transparent about with customers and employees. |

The problem with publicly acknowledging a food safety problem is that it is an invitation for litigation.

The "problem" is the underlying food safety issue. That's what leads to litigation.
Communicating with your customers is just good business. Of course, United may be better off if they hired FlyerTalkers as crisis communication consultants. |
