Pretty sure that's an economy BOB item.

Please complain to 1kvoice.

A flight attendant (grain of salt) told me recently that out and back flights were being double catered but that through flights like ORD-DEN-SFO were being catered out of DEN.

Is there a list of outstations which are double-catered from DEN? I'm specifically interested in longer flights where I'm not entirely sure (like OGG - although I guess OGG-DEN is Snack anyway).

...still serving Bistro on Board upfront (12/6 - DEN->BOS): Options were the Gouda burger (no fresh veggies) or the pizza. Total carbo loading. I completely spaced out otherwise would have snagged something to go before boarding but the burger patty wasn't terrible.

DEN-ORD another Jimmy Dean sandwich this morning. No sign of fruit.

Haven't been on a domestic breakfast flight in a month or two, but isn't fruit being dropped on most/all domestic breakfast flights (except p.s)? I'm flying a breakfast flight Tuesday so am contemplating getting to LAS early to eat at UC. It's LAS-SFO-OGG. I think a muffin will appear on way to SF, but the breakfast offerings I've seen reported recently would be a pretty meager meal SF-Maui. Only a 45 minute layover at SF, so a bit risky to assume I'll have time to grab something there..

I reached out to United on Twitter yesterday and got this response:
"Hi there. Thanks for reaching out! We apologize for any previous inconvenience regarding the catering options in the first class cabin. We anticipate returning to normal catering operations around Mid-December as we continue to work and make improvements to our facilities. ^CW"
I hope it true for my flights next month!

DEN-YYC on 12/9, dinner flight. Options were cheeseburger or Uno pizza. Meals were the economy BoB choices served on the business class dishware. The usual package of toppings for the burger (lettuce/tomato/onion/pickle) was non-existent. The burger is pretty blah, especially without the veggie toppings.

Risking of going off topic here, but this is why the catering cuts are so damaging. The food was never exceptional, but the value is not in the food itself, it's in the time and planning it saves you in the rest of your travel.

Since SFO-OGG will likely leave from the 80s I bet you would have time to grab one of the pre-made burritos at Andale.

Yep. Especially true for very early morning flights or when connecting.

I got fruit on ORD-EWR last weekend, which gets the most simplistic catering of all flights properly coded as "breakfast."

But I have to thank United. Without FUBAR catering, I woud never have explored my Priority Pass option at DEN which is leading me to cancel my United Club card at renewal. If United had wanted to fix the First catering, they would have. (it's been too long and Denver is a big city. Kind of looking like the paper ice cream bowl - it's not the fixing, they just don't want to pay the price to fix it.)

Same here for tonight's DEN-LGA. Advertised as a dinner flight, no comunication or info from UA, offered the "snack" (FA's words) of Pizza or burger. Pizza was OK, but was expecting an actual dinner not the econ BoB.

and as a 1k you could have had the same thing in coach

SFO28L Dec 11, 2017 12:39 pm

DEN-SFO today on a lunchtime flight the offering is hummus, pita chips and a cookie (assuming oreos or similar). To be fair the flight is coded as a snack but sometimes this just means a smaller meal like a sandwich. There is no way to know what you are going to be offered. I am amazed at how long this has gone on without any coordinated communication from United. It is not the biggest problem but it is a real failure to deliver a consistent product that frequent travelers come to expect.

bldr1k Dec 11, 2017 2:44 pm

Flew DEN-NRT in Business today and it was the full menu (same as the last time I took this several months ago).

The gate agent said that the out of order kitchen didn't impact this flight.
