Now UA added purposefully lying to the DEN catering mess. Asked today at GS checkin and United Club about catering and meal voucher. I was told that catering is back up and running and no vouchers are needed any longer.
Of course getting on my flight (blocked at 2:50) its cheese and crackers or humus again.

I believe they actually think that the problem is solved. This is why after a few days they quit sending out emails and quit offering vouchers. I agree with whomever said we should keep complaining because BoB is NOT an acceptable solution to the problem.

This is a trick question, right? LOL

Apparently it is. Just realized it’s a CRJ 700 so it will be cold and bad for sure!

Since you now have very low expectations, you will be perfectly happy. It has worked for me for years. Safe travels!

"They" know it's not solved. There's plenty of pressure internally, too - one of the bigger complaining groups are the pilots, whose meals are also affected. The ones I've spoken with don't like it any more than passengers do.

My wife just flew thru DEN and I warned her about these catering issues. She opted to get a gluten free option in the terminal. On board in F headed to IAD the option was the hamburger or pizza (basically the BOB options).

In Denver, I'll take a Woody Club, from Woody Creek in the Mezzanine, over the crew meals any day (and usually do!).

At O'Hare, it's the Cubana Tortas at Tortas Frontera next to McDonald's in the B Terminal (as long as I have the 20-25 minutes it takes to order and pickup!)

Does that mean I can have your Eli's? :D

In Denver, it's Chick-Fil-A for me (except Sundays...). Agreed on Tortas Frontera in O'Hare, though I'll usually get two Bacon Molletes and an Agua Fresca -- usually no wait for crew on those!

In any case, from what I've seen on FT, I'd venture to say you're probably one of the more easy to work with pilots in the company, so it's not too surprising that you don't eat the meal every leg (what's that one joke about the cannibal? ;) )

The Eli's is often the best thing on the tray! There are a lot of guys who don't eat them, though.

I haven't tried anything other than the Cubana and one of the breakfast tortas. I'll look at the Molletes next time.

Although I almost universally prefer pork to chicken, my favourite at Frontera is the Milanesa.

I also note they apparently have an order-ahead option—

—haven't tried it out, but might save you those 20 minutes.

I was told yesterday by United that they hope to have the DEN kitchen to full status by 12/16, however that wasn’t guaranteed.

The problem here is communication, and that also there is no obvious discount for United First tickets. Not that there should be, but it’s like saying hey come buy this 60k Ford truck with all these amenities, then when you get it, it’s the same price but a work truck version.

Also interesting to note, customer care not only responded back by email, but she also tried several times to call on the phone. Was a nice touch.

use the app for the tortas place once you land then pick it up in under 5 mins.

UA2385 yesterday DEN/ORD, breakfast was 'Egg McMuffin' or Cheerios and yogurt. Neither had fresh fruit.

My thoughts exactly. I would guess that as pilots these folks might have vouches/discounts to use in person. Otherwise I agree it's a waste of time and they should know better ;)
