On UA973 BRU ORD still sitting at the gate estimating 2.5 hours late leaving but still connected to the gate. Rebooked myself on a later flight ORD DEN but that's also blown. Will hope for auto rebook if we ever get airborne.

At least it's a Tuesday, which means you should have availability on those ORD-DEN flights. If all else fails going into Denver, there is a night flight ORD-COS, and you can pick up a car and drive it..... done this a couple times in years past.

The last UA/UAX flight ORD-COS tonight is 4:40pm whereas the last ORD-DEN is 10:40pm.

I would argue for a hotel in downtown BXL... bummer. The Park is a pos. Last time I got stranded there, I was able to argue for the Sheraton.... and frankly if they are willing to pay for that, they could afford anything downtown. At least you can get some good Belgian waffles there.

Just curious... no LH options via MUC/FRA that can get you back to the states tonight? They usually run some later flights...... or via LHR on Brussels Airlines?

I see availability on BRU-NRT-DEN. You'd get home earlier and pick up a ton more PQMs... Not sure if the UA rep would see things that way, but you could ask..

This was not handled well but by the time the flight cancelled, there were really no options(I had watched the FRA possibilities). They really didn't care much about status or cabin and by the time it cancelled, we had been on the plabe forever.

Agreed. The NRT option was all that ExpertFlyer came up with, although I didn't try forcing extra connections.

I was only half-joking. I wouldn't have done it in Y, but if I were in a situation where I could have been in J the whole way, I would have asked for it.

EWR-DEL-EWR UA82/ 83 cancelled for the next 3 days as it seems. It will be tough for the travelers. It seems that all other airlines are going to DEL.
