Got my Plat kit today and is impressed.
I didn't get mine till Feburary this year for (2015)

No kit yet!!
Requalified for 1K on 8/2; Still haven't received my kit yet. Though deep down i'm hoping that UA is considering me for GS and will send me the appropriate kit based on that decision

I've been platinum since I qualified last year, and mystatus says my 2016 platinum kit has shipped. I will reach 1K by year end. For my wife's account, it says she's qualified for Platinum, but nothing about her kit shipping. She will also reach 1K by year end.

Keep flying - you need only 21 more Premier qualifying dollars to reach Premier 1K status for 2016.
with two more trans cons booked and paid for this year. One would think there would be a tipping point that they would just roll it into as hitting the mark.

I find it very telling that in the main area of the literature that the benefits for 2016

The CPUs are on the back with the same time differential- which has to be the most meaningless number in the UA program.
CPUs are dead. They don't even tout them as a benefit.
738 today EWR-DEN. Noon flight - no upgrades....
When GSers start losing CPUs on their personal travel, that is when the crap hits the fan. That's the bribe to GSers. Company buys J and we'll spot you upgrades on your personal travel. Why be loyal to UA if you are buying J - and can get it from anyone.
I told my boss that if he flew me in J, I don't care who I fly- otherwise I need to be on UA so I have a shot at lie-flat.

Small anecdote: I (a silver....) have actually found the card useful on multiple occasions: when checking luggage. My smartphone BP usually has trouble scanning (screen protector + plenty of scratches, together with the small QR code in the UA app, causes issues at Kiosks, checkin and boarding), and I sometimes have tickets not not bought on a credit card (company bought etc) - swiping the card is the fastest option in that case.
(I'm qualifying for Gold today so will hopefully get that card in the not too distant future - that one might be more useful given I'm travelling through LX/LH territory from time to time)

Received my package yesterday for Gold which I re-qualified for back in July. Funny thing is I crossed 75,000 miles for Platinum on Wednesday.
