There is not much service on this route. If you are lucky, FA puts out of a small bottle of water on your seat before departure. This happened to me last time. I guess that you really hates I-95 traffic, even at late night.😄😄

Southbound leaving NoVA on any Friday evening is jam packed. Around major holidays, that 2 / 2.5 hour drive easily turns into 3.5 / 4 hours. After a long work week, you bet I’ll take a 25 minute flight time over the I-95 gridlock…if price / mileage redemption is low. 😁

ORD-RIC on Aug 6, Y fare, after flight change.
RIC-EWR-BOS on Aug 11 after same day change; both at gate or slightly earlier (for 2 pax).
iAD-RIC at T-96 window (for 2 pax).
Add: Wife got battlefield CPU for BOS-IAD on Aug. 15. She moved up at completion of boarding due to no show.

Booked MIA / EWR on Thursday for Friday showing 2 chances for first. Popped up a #9 on list. What can you expect on a last minute? Boarded and got comfortable(?) in 12D and was surprised by a tap on the shoulder and was asked if I would mind changing to 2E? Stunned 12E said yes before I could.😊 what happened to the 6+ in front of me? Who knows but I took the seat.
PS: it turned out to be my first on time flight since early June.
