You could have knocked me over with a feather. Just got an email at 4am that I was PP upgraded as Platinum for a flight 1/14/24 EWR MIA. 14 days in advance. My last 20 PP's I will probably ever have. Very happy!

I just wanted to throw in my personal stats here. In 2023 as a UA Platinum, my CPU clearance was 47%. 55 of my UA segments were CPU eligible with 26 of those clearing. Unfortunately, nine of those were between MKE/ORD. My favorite CPU was to UA Polaris on a 772 from IAH-SFO. Second favorite was from YOW-IAD on the CRJ550 as this was my first time on this aircraft type. The longest routes I received CPUs on were SJU-ORD and EWR-GUA.

Starting 24 off correctly. Two cleared CPUs on 01/01/24 BNA-DEN and DEN-RAP both legs on points.
And this AM cleared two PP legs on 01/18/24 PHL-ORD and ORD-EWR.

CPU'd again MSP to ORD as a Silver on award ticket last week.
Seems to be at least 2 out of 3 odds. Even my kid (companion) got bumped up.
I know, small bananas.....but it gives me a few warm fuzzies.

No posting for 50 days since the last past on Jan. 3.
We should disallow CPU success posts for short hops (< 1 hr or so duration)! And most people do not post these successes anyway.

So the thread should be Plat/1K/GS CPU success then? Golds and Silvers success probably only occurs on these short hops...we want our own thread then.

I'm batting 100% for February so far (2 for 2) but I did selectively cherrypick for the lightest loads so that's likely a major factor.

I’m at about that same rate as a 1k, haha.

On today’s ORD-MSP, I would have easily cleared, but was on a “B” fare and cleared at booking. Same for the return.

Come July 4, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, I’ll be happy to break out of double digits on the upgrade list

Or it's already peak travel times at places like Florida - leaving from Miami, for example, there are already more than 50 people on the upgrade list, with no shot of upgrade, as they have all been spoken for weeks/months.

But that's how the experts play this game, yes?

Yeah, I think that this is what I'm looking at on my LAX-MCO flight this Monday. At least things look reasonable on the return.

I suppose so, yes, but there’s only so much one can do to try for upgrades out of EWR.

Not looking good for next Tuesday (7 open seats, I’m double digits on the list and on a K fare so …)

Feb 2024, SPN-GUM x 2

SPN-GUM (129 miles), February 2024, cleared at booking, T-15 d, into P spaces. Booked into Y class for this flight (with T booking on international leg) (Y1WY & TLE0IQOT); one Premier Silver and one General Member.

My husband and I are both 1K. (His, via a companion status). We both had 6 flights last week on 2 separate reservations. All short, 1.2 - 2.5 hours each. (SFO/LAX/PHX and DEN) He was upgraded 4 of 6. I was upgraded 3 of 6.

No rhyme or reason why I was ahead or he was ahead. But we got 50% and 66% of CPUs.

First CPU of the year. 2pax, IAH-AUS, U fare, purchased 6 days out. I cleared at about T-36, my companion cleared about T-28.

Interestingly, never got an upgrade email or text, it just showed up in seat assignments.
