The Fleet Status site is:

https://sites.google.com/site/unitedfleetsite/

At the site, you can find information about the interior features, livery, etc., for every plane in United's fleet.

To determine which plane your flight will be on go to mobile.united.com and then click on flight status. Put in the flight number for your flight and just have it use today's date (occasionally it'll say flight not operated on this date in which case just choose one of the other 3 dates it lists). In the address bar you'll see something like this:

mobile.united.com/FlightStatus/FlightDetails?carrierCode=UA&flightNumber=415&flig htDate=9%2F15%2F2015&origin=JFK&destination=SFO

https://mobile.united.com/FlightStatus/FlightDetails?carrierCode=UA&flightNumber=415&flig htDate=9%2F15%2F2015&origin=JFK&destination=SFO

Just change the flight date to match the day of your scheduled flight and then change the origin / destination as necessary. Once you do that look in the details tab under aircraft # and if they have assigned a plane it'll say something like #3506 and the type of plane. Once you know that go to the United Fleet website listed above and cross-reference the four digit number against the "aircraft" column under the appropriate aircraft type.

Keep in mind that things change as they get closer and sometimes either they won't have assigned an aircraft yet or it'll be assigned #0 if it's a few days away and they are anticipating aircraft movement.

You may also check the specific fleet variant of each flight at the United Cargo site under "Schedules & tracking". This data tends to be reliable starting 7 days in advance, but is always subject to change.

Is it confirmed that the charter bird (n194ua) was damaged in ORD last week from a wing tip strike to the nose section? If so- How long will this be out of service? Will there be a replacement bird for the foreseeable future, perhaps a 767-400?

What gives?
It's the last entertainment option below the films and TV on the top menu... need to scroll down to find it. And yes, it's turned on based on the captain's discretion.

I doubt they could afford that kind of capacity cut. Instead it looks like they grabbed a spare 'regular' 744: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N175UA on the 29th it goes from schedule routes to Dyess and starts using the 188X series of flight numbers. I didn't realize this was actually a capacity increase, UA used to have so much J and E+ on these birds.

This basically leaves them spare-less on the busier days of the week, they're lucky one wasn't in heavy maintenance.

Yes, it was damaged last week. It will be out of service for some time, but it will be back.

320: United.com shows N437UA with slimline configuration (12/42/96) and N493UA with WiFiStream (still has audio and channel 9 in the configuration of 12/42/90).

738: N35260 is now showing the configuration of 16/54/96 on united.com upon exiting INT today

744: N175UA has been flying the charter services since N194UA (which is currently being worked on at ORD) sustained damage

320: Looks like N492UA had its TVs removed but still has audio programming
744: N177UA and N182UA now have WiFiStream in Y cabin in addition to overhead video
777: Does anyone know what is going on with N788UA? It was last shown flying LHRORD on July 27. Is it at ORD or somewhere else for maintenance?

Sadly it's CRJs that need to be removed, not ERJs

And no, I don't mean CR7s, those are just fine even with SlimeLines

There's only 75 CR2's though and 277 ERJs (minus the ones Bunky mentioned were removed)!!! In my eyes getting either one out as quickly as possible and replaced with E175s is great news!

Agreed that the CR7s with the SlimLines aren't too bad... flew one today and I was pleasantly surprised.

Does anyone know if the E170s will get the new SlimLines too?

Yes, without the headrest. The old ones had nice headrests in Y, now only the F seats will have them.

I think the slimlines are ok all around except for the head area, which is tolerable for 1-1.5 hour flight, but for 3-4 hour flights that UA has in store for them, not so much IMO.

For ExpressJet 35 EMB145s and 17 CR2s are leaving the fleet this year, next year it's 59 EMB145s and 20 CR2s.

For SkyWest Airlines 4 CR2 are leaving the fleet this year and 22 will be leaving the fleet next year.

To me it's just more of the same. They will use these on the 3-4 hour hops and as per before, this will just be "The world's leading airline" offering an RJ experience with no food, no wifi, no tv, no radio and basically trails the industry. If it is for 90 min or less, it is what it is, but they are using them on longer hops and it's not a good product for that. Why can't UA just do what's right rather than always offering less than everyone else while trying to package it as if it were industry leading

Is the # for CR2s correct?

There are a total of 87 CRJs combined operating for UA. 14 on the XJT side and the rest with Skywest.
