Due to the length of concourse B, a connection under an hour when the arriving or departing flight is a UA mainline aircraft, is not advised. If you arrive on the far west end and depart on the far east end, then allowing for the time it takes deboard the plane, and the 20 minute cut off when UA starts to cancel seat assignments, you are unlikely to make your connection. Of course sitting in the front of the arriving plane helps as does having no green tagged bags.
However, if both aircraft are United Express, then a 45 minute connection is acceptable because all United Express flights arrive and depart on the east end of concourse B. Due to construction some United Express flights are utilizing concourse A which requires a transfer via train.

A *really* super-minmum connecting time
Anyone beat this for airline optimism? Looking at an itinerary in mid-June, Santa Fe-Denver-Seattle, where the 1st leg (SFA-DEN) is on United Express with a connection time at DEN of just 33 minutes (!) to the mainline UA flight to SEA. Miss that and you'd be in for a 4+hr wait for the next SEA flight. Someone might think this is plausible, but past experience in trudging those long DEN concourses has me wondering if this would only work if the gates were almost opposite.

I hate those super short connections.
It stresses me to no end just thinking about the connection so I take 2 hour connection domestic to domestic. I can give or take 1/2 hour depending on the airport.

I would recommend sitting as close to the front as possible on the plane and check your bag, if you have to green tag it out of Santa Fe you will not make it as they take 10-15mi to get those bags. Other than that you should make it if the flights are on time

I get worried about < an hour in DEN going west, mostly because I'm pretty much coming on that CR7 that almost always parks at the very end of the RJ area, and if my connection is on the other end, you can forget about it. Especially traveling with a toddler most of the time...I just can't get across the airport as fast as I might be able to on my own.
A 33 minute connection is certainly do-able if you arrive on time and aren't at opposite ends of the concourse. Of course, you never know how that goes. Also keep in mind, if you don't like taking risks, that technically, they can give away the seat on a domestic flight if you are not at the gate ready to board at T-15 (30 minutes for international).
Personally, when I'm on my own, I don't have a problem booking shorter connections, though like to avoid that particularly if its connecting to a once-a-day flight. I used to often book connections in ORD that were 35-40 minutes, and I made it most of the time.

I made the flight just as they were closing the door. The GA congratulated me.

For the record
A few days ago I posted a query re 33 minutes UA Express-to-Mainline connection at DEN. Past experience at DEN, mainline_to_mainline generally not bad, but did have one UA "just as the gate was closing" experience at DEN as we were on the way to SFO for a TPAC. But in this instance, going to/from SEA-SAF via DEN using UA looked to be a tad too hectic. Found a tolerable itinerary via AA w/ 1 hr+ connections at PHX on the way out & DFW on the way back. Too bad UA, you lost the business.

Changing planes in Denver
I have to routinely fly TPA MFR and have found no great connections. Last time I went via SF with 90 minute layover, but due to an air traffic control problem missed the connecting and had to spend the night in SF. (Which is hardly a hardship.)
I am worried about 50 minute connect in DEN going to the commuter gates.
What is the minimum time that is "safe" for DEN--like in Summer.
No other airline seems to work, although Alaska is close.
Ideas?

You can get away with pretty much any connection time that's legal in DEN - and summer crowds won't necessarily make a big difference. The issue you might face will be on the inbound side aboard the commuter; I have misconnected plenty in DEN sitting waiting for a commuter gate or a marshaller. That's pretty much the main reason I started avoiding DEN connections into and out of COS, after many years of that almost being the assumption.
