Due to the length of concourse B, a connection under an hour when the arriving or departing flight is a UA mainline aircraft, is not advised. If you arrive on the far west end and depart on the far east end, then allowing for the time it takes deboard the plane, and the 20 minute cut off when UA starts to cancel seat assignments, you are unlikely to make your connection. Of course sitting in the front of the arriving plane helps as does having no green tagged bags.

However, if both aircraft are United Express, then a 45 minute connection is acceptable because all United Express flights arrive and depart on the east end of concourse B. Due to construction some United Express flights are utilizing concourse A which requires a transfer via train.

Hmmm my connection D to I on United in November has a 59m connection - wonder when/if that gets flagged by the system

Are you sure?

Those look like the generic values from ExpertFlyer to me. For the airline-specific rules, UA-UA DI is still listed as 40m (but 1h10m if coming in via bus); DD is also 40m (but 50m if coming via bus). ID is 1h10m.

I dont think this is right. UA is still selling a plethora of 40-50 min connections. Both DD and DI.

Well, I pulled the information from an internal resource. Your Mileage May Vary.

Was the answer for any airline or change of carriers vs UA-UA, the answers are different. You responses look like the generic MCT not the UA-UA. Have updated the MCT in the wiki.

Well, if DEN Ops have changed their minds about what constitutes a valid connection, I hope they'll (a) publish that to the GDSes and (b) let scheduling know.

Looking at a 63-minute domestic connection in DEN coming from YVR on July 5. Is this doable without running? Would really appreciate saving the $500 over alternate routings/carriers, but if I have to deal with getting a last-minute hotel on my own nickel, IDG rebooking on a holiday weekend, and a stressed out DW... it may not be worth it.

Completely doable. Your YVR flight will go through Immigration in Canada so it's like any other domestic flight and that's enough time. If the flight is really on July 4, 2024, you will get a few schedule changes - so check every couple weeks and if there are changes, know that you can tweak your trip to something that works.

It looks like flying from YVR you clear customs in Vancouver so it should be like a domestic connection. If both flights are B gates and both are on time, you'll have plenty of time. Even if the gates are far apart it only takes about 15 minutes to walk from B7 to B60. It takes an additional 10 minutes if you need to switch between A and B terminals, but even that is very doable with an hour layover. Because of the long lines for most fast food, you will not have much time to stop for a warm snack.

Just an update on our DEN Reserve experience.
Was a Monday morning around 9:30
Quite a long queue, took 20 minutes to get through.
Cant say whether it saved us time or not with only one TSA ID checking agent at the end.
But I was a bit curious about the ID checking procedure…….as I saw it.
My daughter with an Australian passport went before me.
She handed the agent her pp and boarding pass and stood in front of the camera and the screen came up with number of errors. What he did then I don’t know, but she was allowed to move on.
I then approached with the same documents and all he did was look at the front cover of my pp, slipped the boarding pass in and waved me past.
Strange, I thought, having experienced a more rigorous ID procedure at other US airports this trip.

Debating on whether to take a flight w tight connection at Denver.

SFO -den-lhr.
56minute connection
739 sfo-den
789 Den-lhr
No status. 739 I am seeing row 29 as the first available seats. Will have carry on bags and concerned about onboard availability on the lhr flight by the time I get there
I like the departure time of the sfo flight 3.55pm else I'd have to take the 745pm direct flight

I would prefer to leave from SJC - Den on a A320 at 4.03 pm but I'd only have a 40min connection.

Or should I go w the direct?

I wouldn’t count on making either of those connections in DEN. If you have to change from B to A or vice versa, you may not make it, especially if you are talking flight times and not when they cut off boarding.

Why would they allow such bookings. 1hr is a little tight for my personal taste for a d-i connection
