Average refund time

I cancelled a old CO ticket over 6 weeks ago. I used a Travel Voucher for the booking. But really does it take over 6 weeks to send me a refund or a new Travel voucher.
Waiting times on the phone over 1 hour and no one can help.
I have sent 4 emails and I am still waiting for a reply !

My 4 cancelled award reservations have been sitting in the "Manage reservations-inactive" section for about 6 weeks as well. All the miles were redeposited but no tax refunds were received yet. When I click on view the cancelled reservations at the inactive section, it shows "This reservation has been cancelled and is being processed for a refund."

If it's been 6 weeks, you might want to call in. I waited 4 weeks for a tax refund, ending up calling in, got put through to Refunds where an agent did it the same day.

Thanks keithguy! I actually did email 1Kvoice few days ago regarding the issue, I will give UA another 2 weeks to see if they read my email. I have a feeling that I will end up calling since couple of threads mentioned that it would take a month for them to reply the email from 1Kvoice.

I've got one that I waited 3 weeks to see if it processed. I sent an email to 1kvoice at that point, no response. At 4.5 weeks, I gave up and disputed it with my credit card company (Chase). Once it went beyond 30 days, I didn't feel like a credit was magically forthcoming, nor did it feel reasonable or fair that I should be responsible for tracking it and remembering whether it had happened or not.

There's really no excuse for it taking more than a few days. They certainly don't have these sorts of issues on money flowing the other direction.

TWO Months for return of copayment for upgrade

I had flight reservations (6 flights MEL-MEX and return) cancelled ten days ago due to ill health. I had requested an upgrade with miles (60,000) and copayment (US$1,200). Ten days after the cancelation there are no signs of miles being re-credited to my MP account or return of the copayment. So I have just spoken to MileagePlus people in Manila (my guess) to see whether I can get some sense on this.

Initially I was told that return of the co-payment could take 3 billing cycles (three months!). When I expressed incredulity at this the operator took 12 minutes to speak to her supervisor and to Mileage Plus HQ and then told me that 'due to improvements' the delay had now been reduced to a maximum of two billing periods (60 days) although I might be lucky to have the money back earlier ("any time between 10 and 60 days").

Frankly I've had enough with the new United and having just become a million miler makes this even worse. I know that some other s have reported a faster turn around- so is there anything I can do? Fax the Mileage Plus number 1-600-341-6140, or write to Mileage Plus in Rapid City, South Dakota or... Any advice on what to do?

Call your credit card company and request a charge back. Shouldn't take longer than 5-10 minutes. Explain the situation.

Also, they should be able to return the MP miles almost immediately on the phone.

OP this is the case with almost every vendor that takes a CC, they will tell you up to 2 statements! Had they told you 10 days and it didnt appear youd be yelling from the roof tops so all the vendors are smart and state a long period of time to avoid having people calling and asking where is it.

That said whenever I know a refund will be forth coming and the statement with the charge has closed I simply call my CC and request a temp credit for said amount and never was I denied. The CC credits you the amount of what the refund should be and you dont have to pay it.Then when the refund come sin from the vendor they reverse the temp credit by debiting your acct and the permant credit from the vendor remains net net you didnt pay for it

But COdbaUA isnt doing anything that most other vendors or Airlines do when it come sto this

I just got off the phone with an agent about an award redeposit. I had canceled an award yesterday but the miles had not been redeposited. It took her a minute to do that. When I asked about the taxes, she said it would take 10 business days. My other award cancelation took about two months, and one of the refunds got botched and still hasn't come through.

How long is the refund "queue"?

I've been waiting 2 days now for a refund on a ticket that was issued and refunded w/in the 24 hour period.

I paid for $250 of it using a united.com gift certificate someone bought me (not a $250 customer service cert!) which is supposed to be valid for 5 years. I paid the remainder with a CC.

The agent told me when I was canceling it that the CC charge would be refunded and that the full $250 from the gift cert would be refunded, either to the original cert #, or to a new cert #, and he didn't know which, but that I would get an e-mail within 2-3 hours with the information.

It has been 2 days now, no e-mail, no nothing. I just called the 1K desk and was told that the refund was "queued" and that they have no idea how long the queue takes as refunds are handled by "a different department."

Does anyone here know how long this takes? And does anyone know how the gift certificate goes back to the original # or a new GC #?

Thanks.

(And, Ugh!!! These things never took days of sitting in a "queue" before SHARES came along. UACO's stupid black boxes are really pissing me off.)

How Long Should I Have to Wait for a Refund?

Flew UA on 3/30 from IAD to LAS, had paid for two E+ upgrades, but in the post merger world, the seats were lost and we flew in the back. I was told that the refund would happen automatically, but after a couple of weeks, called in. They said they can't help by phone and to check the web. I filled out a web form, but nothing has happened since. I've also filled out a Customer Care form, but gotten no response.

Anybody know what else I should/could do about this? UA definitely owes me the refund. Do I just keep waiting? It's been over a month which seems fairly long at this point. Thanks for any advice.
