Sometimes too many different types of contacts can actually delay processing of something simple. There's one Web form to fill out. Stick with that. After 10 business days, initiate a chargeback for the value of the E+ seats.

Interestingly, got a response to my Customer Care form today. "Since the merger, there have been challenges, blah, blah, blah.....we're sorry you've been inconvenienced, blah, blah, blah.....here's a travel cert."
However, nothing about my actual issue, not even an acknowledgement that, yes we owe you money, and someday you will get it.
It's been 5 weeks (25 business days and counting....)

You paid for E+ seats and never got them, mainly because "THEY" are screwed up, so charge it back and put an immediate end to the lack of professional service!

Refund Processing...
About a month ago I sent a refund request to the UA refund center via fax (713-324-1431). Recently I used the online "check my refund status" tool to see whether it had processed and found that no refund request had ever been processed.
Today I'm re-sending the fax, and will drop the same request in the mail... Maybe I'll get a response the second time around?
What have others' experiences been recently with refund processing?
Ok, so just tried faxing again and their fax was busy for 4 automatic attempts...

I cancelled some award tickets in early March and got mysterious refunds on my credit card in early May, which I eventually traced back to the award ticket taxes.

IME, CO refund department never actually does anything until you have called multiple times. When you finally get an agent to react to it, they will profess surprise at the fact that nothing happened. ("Gee, I wonder why this hasn't gone through yet. Let me check. Please hold.")
I recently had an upgrade fee double charged and the upgrade did not clear. It took almost 8 weeks to get the refund and that was after an email, a fax and 5 phone calls. To their credit, when I finally got someone to act, it only took two days for the credit to post to my account.
CO service at its best!

Because many/most of us never receive a response, or at least not a timely response, from the airline. I'm waiting, 21 days later, to hear ANYTHING (beyond the immediate autoreply) in response to a refund request. The refund (for miles+copay UG) was supposed to happen automatically at the time UAL didn't provide the service I had already paid for, April 20. The very helpful "check refund status" tool on the website? "No record of your request, why don't you try faxing it in." I think I'll skip that and try the CC dispute now.

Update - after 60 minutes on the phone w/ premier customer service (hold time = 0 before reaching a real agent) my refund seems to have been processed. Miles refund shows in my account activity (not reflected in RDM total yet) and I've been told to expect $ credit within 7 days. I have very little faith that this would have ever been resolved w/o the call.
One suggestion - call the premier line first, no matter what your issue. Last time I dialed customer service directly and ended being transferred 2x to an agent overseas who couldn't do $#!+ for me. This time I immediately ended up w/ a remarkably helpful, well trained, US agent who w/o transfers took the time to get all my information, identify solutions, and call the necessary desks on my behalf to get the refund processed. Feeling much better...customer service still lives at this airline, after all.

Applied for refund Itinerary stays until they approve refund?
Been 48 hours since applied for weather refund
Seems the reservation sits in your account until they actually
refund it?
Pending review for 2 days
but have documented it all

I had to cancel due to Isaac and requested refund. Credit showed up in the credit card account today, so took just over 72 hours. Some details - canceled online but then got an error on the refund page link and called prenier line to get refund processed.
