I can say with absolute certainty that there is no way every single UA activity/glitch/cock-up will be rectified perfectly so that the world is as it would have been if this integration had actually been completed successfully. It is going to take weeks for them to work through idiosyncratic scenarios and at a point some of us just won't pursue the appropriate outcome any farther. I'm writing off my 2 global upgrades and 6 regional upgrades that have been double deducted. There is no way in hell I'm booking a work-related TPAC or TATL for April/May on this airline anyhow when they can't even correctly credit my flight from last Wednesday or keep me in my assigned seat for more than six hours. Those are paid C, as are my TCON flights. I'll be at the front of the bus regardless of status on any airline. UA had that business from me because, frankly, I liked them more than anyone else.
These types of mergers of equals have large friction costs within both customer bases. You can count at least my next two months of business as a fraction of those costs from the UA side. Given how well DL has been taking care of me as a Plat it's likely to be much more time than that as this will tip the scales as to which airline I put more BIS in on this year. I may fall to 75K on UA for the first time since I graduated college.
This is why companies that aren't desperate don't enter into these transactions.
Not a single balance within my MP account is correct. Not a single existing itinerary is lacking at least one issue. My patience is not limitness, nor should it be.

Long thread with lots of issues.
Has anybody successfully sponsored a GPU (SWU) upgrade for somebody else? In this instance looking at an expiring SWU (3/12). If so, please post detailed step-by-step instructions. Any help is greatly appreciated. I am just lost on that new UA.com.......

Will the email backlog be eliminated?
Hello UAInsider.
I am sure that you are aware that over the past few months your customer service teams have accumulated a huge backlog of emails. Email to United customer care or to Continental customer care where either not responded to, or responded after 4-8 weeks.
I have two issues which I have emailed about in January and in February. Will I ever get a response, or should I send it again?

Shannon - can you please confirm what is happening for upgrade purposes when "the system" splits a 2-person PNR at check-in due to upgrade available only for higher-status flyer?
1. Is the lower-status flyer still recognized for complimentary upgrade purposes as the companion to the higher-status flyer on the first leg of the itinerary?
2. Is the lower-status flyer still recognized for complimentary upgrade purposes as the companion to the higher-status flyer for later and return legs of the itinerary?
If not, that needs to be fixed...and is there a workaround that can be accomplished by calling the 1K line?

Regional Upgrade on PS problem
I still can't use my Regional upgrade on p.s. flights.
It shows RPU but after clicks it, it pulls out GPU....

The Aer Lingus partner page doesn't show the 100% PQM/RDM for the IAD-MAD flights. As this was a special partnership, and treated as if it were a UA flight, is this still continuing? Or do we no longer earn PQM and full RDM for this route?

No Global Services since the big day (March 3rd)
As of March 3rd, I have not been able to reach Global Services. The GS Driect phone number no goes off-shore to standard reservations. Just wondering if anyone has found a way to reach them? I've tried e-Mail, the 1K line, no one knows.

Same issue here - seems that global services members are getting the most lost in this transition. I finally got through today via the 1K line - my status "vanished". Told today 4-5 days to restore.

Just needed to a same day confirmed change for tomorrow. The hold time wasn't too bad, just 4 minutes, but then another 28 minutes to change the flight and assign the seat. This is probably why the system is so slow.
The very friendly agent wasn't sure if she needed to add me to the upgrade list manually or if it would happen automatically like it used to. Anyone know?
