+1 -- I was on two PMUA flights back to back on Monday with the same crew in 1st. The first meal order was taken front to back. The second was in a U shaped way (started on the left side 1st row and went all the way back ONLY on the left side -- then right side last row and all the way to the front). I was sitting on the 1st row right side (i.e. last) but I was tired so I didn't say anything.
I just wish they did it all consistently. |

I have been telling people about the U shape in domestic F since January, but no one believes me. In my case, five flights so far with the U going the other way: right side front to back, left side back to front. If you sit in 1A or 1B you are SOL.

This BS finally hit me... spent a sizeable amount on the W fare in late February for SNA-WAW via EWR and CPH on 5/24. Most concerned, of course about UG on EWR-CPH. Today RN1 showed up on availability.. Called COdbaUA and was told by 1K desk that my MP no was not in the record. I advised of availability and she said she would check with supervisor as to whether she could do the UG.... came back and told me 3 ahead of me.. sorry!!!
Long story short, I called back, got another agent to make sure my MP number was in the record. She indicated yes... and I said, oh BTW, there seems to be RN1 availability on the EWR-CPH.. she said "oh you are correct, let me fix that for you..." A minute later I was seated in in F.. Moral of story... CHECK YOUR RECORD EVERY DAY... AND DON'T TRUST ANY AGENT ON THE FIRST CALL.. |

Well there theoretically could have been 3 people ahead of you but of course the system does work consistantly. The first agent could have been correct in not "forcing" the upgrade where as the second agent improperly forced it. Maybe not, I'm just saying that agents have been known to force the upgrade for those of us who watch R intently eventhough they shouldn't

Had to call in for a number of waitlisted records with R/RN availability this morning, as well as one not allowing the option to upgrade or apply an instrument online. The agent helping me was fast and efficient and took care of everything within about 10 minutes. ^
It was like the good old days and I wept a little tear. I complimented him and told him this call was a vast improvement. He replied, "I'm glad things are getting better." |

They took orders on my Business flights (both 2 and 3 class) in U pattern though on the PMUA flt they asked for First and Second choices. The FA took a few minutes to figure it out and then went around to inform people that they would receive their 2nd choice. It seemed random so I don't know how she decided who received what.

Partner flights (LX & LH) not showing under flight search (award or pd)
Below is the gist of a pm I sent to UA Insider and have yet to receive a response so I'm throwing it out here with the hopes that it will be read and for any advice from the community as well.
=== I'm trying to put together and 80th birthday trip for my dad (with mom and my aunt as "baggage" ;)) but like the subject says, certain flights are not showing under either an award or paid ticket search using UA's website and I'm wondering if this is a hold over from the StarNet blocking that PMUA did or simply a "system glitch". I am looking at flying my folks MIA-ZRH/MUC-CDG and then CDG-PBI in October and where I can see the outbound ZRH conx on LX, the MUC conx on LH doesn't come up and I know the flight exists as I can see it on LH's website. In addition I am also looking at the possibility of flying my folks SFO-ZRH-CDG on LX (and my aunt ex-South Florida where they meet at CDG) and no matter how I search (award or paid), the LX non-stop SFO-ZRH doesn't show nor does the return non-stop as UA's website wants to route via EWR, IAD or IAH and I know the LX non-stop SFO-ZRH and the return exist :confused: Plus, I know that I can route SFO-BOS-ZRH-CDG using UA's website but the only way to get it to show up without the website showing conx in EWR or IAD is to try and book the segments separately SFO-BOS and then BOS-ZRH and then ZRH-CDG. Also, I tried every single day in October for both outbounds and returns and also checked every singe day in June just to see if it was an issue with the trip being "farther out" but I get the same results for june as well (plus I also called 1k reservations on more than one occasion and they can't see anything either (with even one agent saying "i know the flights should be there as I've taken them") |
Couldn't it be as simple as "LH isn't giving UA the inventory"?
