That's not unusual for DFW-FRA, one of the most reliable award gateways.
Of course, you do have to get to DFW and it is old First, but certainly better than many other options.

How is the accuracy these days at T-7 on UA.com? I know there is always phantom inventory out there, but within 1 week is it accurate?

Generally yes, although not always. Assume 90+% accuracy at that point.
I'd still check ANA just to be sure.

Interesting data point. Today I booked ORD-FRA in F for departure tomorrrow. I initially checked ANA since I find it more accurate. ANA showed no availability in F or J, while UA offered both options. I suspected phantom inventory, but was pleasently surprised when I was confirmed and ticketed.

ANA won't show availability inside 4 days, so you probably saw an "-" instead of "x".

Close in ANA searches

I believe the ANA 7 day search will work close in.

KVS has a method that allows award searches close in.

Im pretty sure they block LAX-FRA at this point... Ive been monitoring over the last month as i am going to try and book it for my honeymoon in a few weeks.

Today it shows F8 with no seats released. I set an alert and will be curious if it opens up.

Even at F8, LH won't usually release LAX until inside T-7

With all the complaints about how cold is the F cabin on the 748i, that flight is one of my least favorite

Business may be oversold and there may be some upgrades to F.

The seat map shows some occupied F seats, although LH seat maps on EF seem to go weird on flight day.

Yes, especially when the Flight Manager is hard at work juggling passengers and seats on an oversold flight.
