The Telegraph only seems to be quoting the Daily Mail, and does make it clear that there will probably be only very limited opening by Easter:

A gradual loosening of lockdown could mean holiday lets and larger hotels will be able to reopen by Easter, according to the Daily Mail. Dining rooms will remain closed until a later date, according to their industry source, when bars and restaurants reopen...

Restrictions are expected to be lifted gradually, starting with self-catered holidays at Easter and outdoor-only hospitality in May, before tourism gets"broadly" back to normal by July, the Daily Mail reported this morning.

Yes, you are right. So who knows.

Is that akin to asking this question: "Will Scotland also be doing what England will be doing and doing so on the same time frame?"?

This is also the expectation of the UK government, as reported in the Daily Mail today. Domestic travel possibly returning to normal by July, with international travel following at a later, unspecified, date.

Wish all these quotes thrown around of "dont book summer holidays" and "returning to normal" would be clearer as it seems to be focusing more on the usual TUI package holiday trips to Spain lot.. but going on holiday was always allowed last year apart from November lockdown if that's correct due to reasons to leave the house? I wonder what the chances are of it changing when things relax a little, like shops opening, to not being "illegal" to travel, but just an strong advisory, with no travel corridors and still with quarantine and three - five tests needed. Like how tier 3 was, most things were still shut, you weren't allowed to leave your county - yet could leave the country without being questioned by the police...

Germans may be allowed to travel to the Canaries for Easter! How do our infection rates compare to theirs? I know obviously how their vaccination programme compares - badly!

I've got mine booked. I'm 53, with no health issues. Same with my sister who is 50. We're both registered at the same GP surgery, so it appears that some GPs are getting through their lists faster than others.

Well if that’s the case, I’m sure you wouldn’t want people going there from the U.K., mixing with them and bringing it back.

Coronavirus cases are low in the Canaries if that's your point?

just to clarify the article in case anyone wants to understand it without reading - this seems to be a German tour operator lobbying to allow Easter holidays to the Canaries rather than any German government authority suggesting it would be allowed.

My clients today have been mostly mid to late 50s, some a lot younger (presumably underlying health conditions). I'd say a quarter in their 60s and above, a quarter below 50, half in the their 50s. I'm doing more 2nd jabs, but today was a bit skewed because we were doing Pfizer, mostly I've been vaccinating people use AZ, but the Pfizer supply started sooner hence there is greater scope for 2nd vaccinations.

Well they may be until people from Germany get there - I assumed you were posting a warning! ;D
