Worldometer has last weeks (27th) cases at 2685..
I know this has been done to death on here but waiting another two weeks for reopen further seems utterly futile. Is there really any likelihood of some surge as a result of the last reopening? And then it’ll be the same story next month despite constant failed predictions of post opening spikes. Not going to change though so almost pointless to moan at this point |

CWS, is there anyway to know which locations have Pfizer in London?

So it looks like both Wales and Scotland offer the personal touch and will contact you by phone or mail. Genuinely surprised at that approach in this day and age.

My brother in Cardiff is 32 and got the AstraZeneca vaccine 2 weeks ago - they've already given a first dose of vaccine to over 60% of 30-40 year olds and are now giving Pfizer appointments to those aged 28-30, with those aged 25-28 coming in 2 weeks. Letters and texts are going out with automatic bookings so no-one has to faff around trying to book online. Much more efficient than England!

Automatic booking sounds mightily inconvenient for those that work or have commitments. Online booking process in England is super simple and easy. As for calling people...it’s not 1985 anymore 😉

Speaking of him, it's 11 weeks now he had his first jab (Pfizer) and hasn't been contacted about second one. He says nobody answers the phone in his GP surgery and offices were closed when he dropped by. I advised him to call 119 which he's reluctant to do or drop by a vaccination centre. Is there any other options for him to make sure he won't go over 12 weeks? |

I thought that you can't do that for Pfizer? Or did I misunderstand?

Just as I thoughthttps://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...689529c6c8.jpg
Guess he has to keep trying to reach his GP or 119 |
As far as I'm aware 119 use the same website that you've already tried, so they will probably direct them back to their GP.

And yet the approach seems to work: Wales has given at least one dose to 73.5% of its adult population, compared to 65.4% in England, and has fully vaccinated 30.5% (29.3% in England).

HB7. The vaccination hub at the Mile End Leisure centre is definitely doing Pfizer, I got my second jab of Pfizer there today. However, I believe this hub is organised by a number of GP practices in the East End of London. The booking process was triggered by a text from my GP surgery -a very efficient web booking service (but it's not the main NHS booking page). If by chance you're based in the east end this may be useful, but otherwise I don't think it'll be an option for you.

Is there any other options for him to make sure he won't go over 12 weeks? I would imagine 119 will tell him to phone his GP. He needs to keep trying to phone them. Second option would be to turn up at the GP clinic on a Pfizer day. We’ve had people do this when they are 11+ weeks from their first Pfizer jab. We do try to fit them in. The best time is three quarters way through their clinic time, that way there should have been some no shows and before they get panicking about not having enough doses. I appreciate that knowing what time that would be could be difficult. If they really can’t fit him in that day, chances are they could book him in for their next Pfizer clinic. |
