First doses might slow down to an absolute trickle, it seems?

Time for some data and note 'Cases and deaths reported for Wales cover 48 hour period'.

Cases 2,379 (4,040 last Tuesday)
Deaths 20 (56)
Patients admitted 248 (360 on the 22nd march)
Patients on ventilation 517 (630 on the 25th)

The number of cases continues to drop quickly, even with the extra Wales data. The 7 day daily average is now down 35.7% on the previous 7 days. For a direct comparison on deaths, England reported 15 today and 39 at the same time last week.

I guess this is the side effect of leaving 3 months for second doses. And the introduction of “vaccine passports” will end up eith the younger part of the population doubly stuffed: unable to be vaccinated because of lack of vaccines and unable to participate to social life because they’re not vaccinated.

Bit of a bummer if true.

Will the vaccine passport have a blue cover?

Breathe out everyone..... :)

I'm guessing cases are down due to school being on Easter break now?

Personally, I am unconvinced of the role of schools in this. Cases have been falling at a good rate for some time.

Dashboard shows todays cases as 2,379. (2762 was yesterday) so even better.

Yes ,even better. Sometimes the page does not properly update which I think got me today. Wales was only responsible for 126 cases in that and that was the figure for two days there.

Yes, that iis the correct figure, there is some intermittant data warehouse problem that started over the Bank Holiday and though the top of the page says updated, the rest of the page is taking a good 30 minutes to update for some reason, and therefore temporarily shows the previous day's data. The techies are on the case. Accepting that the Easter Bank Holiday is slowing down data somewhat - it did the same around Christmas - these are still some of the sharpest falls of the pandemic, for both cases and mortality.

No, I think it will means something signficant. If nothing changes then yes it's the 3 tests and 10 days, but we know there will be a new system in place, some more details on the system will come in the next week but we know a few headlines.

- we don't know what countries will be in which colour. From the outlines the USA has a good chance of being Green, due to vaccinations, genome sequencing, variants under control and lower infection rates
- we don't know what the impact of each colour means, in terms of testing and self isolation requirements, but the implication of being Green is that it won't be so onerous
- we don't know whether being vaccinated helps matters or not. If a place is Green then there may that most people benefit anyway so long as they go through testing. For Amber places there doesn't seem a lot of point in self isolating if vaccinated and tested.
- we don't know precise timings.

Well, this depends on how one defines "significant" and "onerous." For me, anything other than proof of vaccination status qualifies as onerous.

There is no suggestion that there have been any blood clot cases in children. BBC story here.

No sorry that isn’t what I specifically meant. I was briefly and hastily translating the headline from bbc news. I’ve edited my post for you.
