If the return is not PrimeFly but EcoFly it is correct that the system is charging you the seat selection for the return. You could mix & match the branded fares to be one package on each direction.
I am not aware of the "child" glitch but it's known that TK.com might be glitchy when opening bookings made through TA's. |
Thanks very much, ISTflyer, that's very helpful. I tried to purchase a seat for the return leg but the transaction didn't go through, so I may have to give them a ring anyway. I hate having to use corporate travel agents, it would be so much easier if we could just book our own flights!

Hey all,
Forgive me if this has been answered before, but while checking an upcoming itinerary, I see this message when trying to change seats. Does this mean: a. The flight is full and there is no other seats available. b. There’s a pending aircraft swap. c. I’m gonna potentially be downgraded from J to Y. Or d. A combo of the above. Last I checked there was only one other seat available, and I still have my old seat assignment, so my inclination is to go with possibility A. What’s also strange, it won’t let me change my seat for the 2nd segment in this itinerary too. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...ba5d1ca52a.png Edit: Seems they are still selling Business seats on the flight where I can’t select a seat |

It is a common issue and has been reported before. All seats have been assigned as you have seen during the reservation process and as confirmed to you. No need to worry.
During online check-in for both flights completely different seats were allocated with no option to change them (even to similar seats) without paying (again!). On the flight to SIN there appeared to be further chaos by numerous passengers being assigned different seats during the boarding process, which had people wandering and asking others whether they are flying alone and wouldn't mind switching with someone else. When the person next to me showed me their BP it wasn't even a re-issued one but had their previous seat assignment crossed off with a pen and a new one written on it. |
What is an 33M.
It shows an A330-200 but I don't see a seat map on any site that matches it. It seems this aircraft has 5 rows of business class seating 30. This is TK1952/AMS-IST/March 2. Seat LOPA shows a cabin of 18 (333) or 24 (33A). |
unable to reserve seats
I booked a TK flight through AC, using Aeroplan points. Booking went through, I have the TK PNR (and the AC pnr of course) and the ticket number.
Tried both the app and the web site, no luck. called customer service they told me to call AC. AC says it is TK issue. sent a feedback form with no response. Tried the airport but of course no one from TK available. what is the secret? It is a long haul flight in Economy. |
TK's website, and app are pretty unreliable. I tend to have more luck using their app to do seat selection for a partner award, but when the aircraft changes, they won't automatically assign people on the same itin to adjacent seats. So, assuming you still have a couple months out, it is worth periodically checking in every month or so before the flight in case of an aircraft change so you can select the seats you want.
Additionally, if you try to select seats too far in advanced, the seat map might not even be up to date. e.g. we were booked for a short haul domestic within Turkey on business, but it was showing 3x3 layout even starting from row 1. Then a few months later after a schedule change, they finally updated their seat map to the correct 2x2 layout in Business |
789 Business seat question
Hi all, first time TK flight upcoming.. very excited...
I was wondering what you recommend between Row 2 or 6, as both are open. I would have gone for 4 just to be mid cabin but both windows in 4 are taken. I def. want to stay with 2, 4 or 6 to be closer to the window. Will 6 put me at risk of them being out of my first choice for food? Is 2 a little close to the galley & noise? Just be curious what the general consensus is on 2 Vs. 6 or does it not really matter? Thanks :) |

Hi, 2 is not too bad... Can be noisy if the crew is loud and chatty but that's not always the case and would be my personal preference vs 6. But just to manage your expectations, 787 seats are hard and narrow and generally uncomfortable product, unless you are petit size...
They do go front to back as far as food service? |
Yes, TK goes from front to back for meal services on all flights.
No priority for status people for their meal preference as well unlike other carriers. |
just check if they open row 1 upon checkin. row 1 seats have much more foot space. usually 1A and 1K is reserved for deadheading pilots.

Do they, in general, load enough meals so pax in last rows also get their choice, or is it common that they run out early?
On red-eye flights when people would like to maximize their sleep, it's more likely that someone at the back would receive their top choice. |
