Correct. I was approved for renewal a couple of weeks ago. The card arrived a few days later.

So we had my infant son's interview today. The agent said that if I'm ever crossing with any of his stuff (including a stroller.... anything other than the carseat base she said) or my husbands (mentioned a jacket) without them in the car with me, I must use regular lanes. Does this seem odd? I own the stroller.... and I often wear my husbands jacket. She said they are 3rd party goods.... how are things like a stroller 3rd party goods!?!

A couple of questions regarding NEXUS, apologies if this has been answered before, but I've heard different answers for these, and the website is a bit vague on these questions.
1. If someone has committed a customs violation (undeclared food) while entering the US, can they apply for Nexus after six years? The CBSA website gives that timeline, but that is for Canada. The US CBP site gives no such similar indication. I know someone who voluntarily withdrew their application to enter Canada due to a suspicion of intent to work but was approved for Nexus five years later. "Customs Act Member has a recorded enforcement action under the Customs Act in the Integrated Customs Enforcement System (ICES). *May be eligible to (re)apply after six years have elapsed since the recorded enforcement action into ICES.* NOTE: The six-year period begins from the date the contravention is recorded in ICES." Under Customs https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/prog/nexus/term-eng.html 2. I know that a US or Canadian citizen can enter Canada by air from any country using just their Nexus card at the kiosk or counter, and if flying from the US they do not even need to carry their passport, but is this the same while entering the US? I believe the Global Entry kiosks don't even read or recognize the Nexus cards (which they should, along with passport cards and Global Entry cards in an ideal world, though those two being valid for air travel are separate issues), but what if we enter via a booth? Will the CBP agent ask for passports? Would the answer make any difference if we were entering from Canada vs entering from any other country? 3. Not a question, but anyone in a similar situation, for the record permanent residents, who don't qualify under seemingly undefined 'exempt' categories, need to reside in either country for three years before they are permitted to apply for Nexus. This includes most PRs who come by marriage, family, express entry, etc al. It's not really defined on the web page, but I imagine those tied to military would qualify as an exemption. |

Application: A few questions
My partner and I will be applying for Nexus shortly. Do they require the "full" birth certificate document, or is the ID card ok? I have a full document, but my partner only has a card.
Also, can we apply together? We're common law, so not sure how that works. Thanks in advance. |
Short form birth certificate will be fine.
You each need to make a separate application. |
Thanks!

Do you two not have passports? Usually applicants just bring passports to the interview instead of birth certificates.

Anyhow, we both have passports. I just wasn't sure if we also needed the birth certificates. |
