Mr Flyquiet bought the tickets and I don't think he has my numbers. It was a UA ticket with a segment on AC, so seat selection over Twitter. Lots of cooks in the kitchen. I did input NEXUS on the web check-in but it wouldn't complete the check-in. Maybe it saved the number anyway.
When I went to GE, I inserted the card sideways (forgot how), and it wasn't working, of course, so I inserted the passport following the sketch on the deck (which is also wrong), and when I finally reverse engineered the flash animation on the little video screen of which way to insert the passport, I remembered how the NEXUS card went in properly, exactly as described in #7840, and it worked perfectly. Knew my flight number already and all I had to do is confirm. It's witchcraft.

I think it is less witchcraft and more UA remembering travel document numbers with your FF number. I do not need to enter my passport number any more when OLCI, UA offers it to me and provides the option to edit if need be. So as long as your FF number is associated to the PNR (which is typically done when buying the ticket), they pull off the information from their databases.

+1
UA always has my travel documents pre populated and all I have to do is enter US hotel address.

We are flying to Hawaii on Nov 1 from Pearson. We have Nexus cards but no iris scan has been done. If we go to Pearson on Oct 31 and get the scan done can we use our Nexus cards through the retina scanner on Nov 1?

Not sure if new cards need to be issued or we just carry on with our current cards.

Just get your irises added to your file when you go catch your flight to Hawaii, so you can use the Nexus machines coming back. Just walk in to the Nexus office, no new card needed.

You don't need to use the Nexus machine for US immigration preclearance. Use the Global Entry machine. All you need to use that is your fingerprints and passport.

Yes, but have you had fingerprints taken? If so you can use the Global Entry machine at US preclearance instead of the NEXUS machine. Iris scan is not needed for Global Entry.

When returning to Canada you will need iris scans if you want to use NEXUS. I prefer to just use the automated check-in with the passport scanner when returning to Canada, instead of NEXUS. I find it faster.

Not sure if we had our prints taken at the Interview in Port Huron. I just plain forget. Will get the Iris scan.

Ask the CBP agent at the Nexus office if your fingerprints are on file. If they aren't, the agent can add them on the spot.

Or, the OP can just log into GOES. I haven't been in in a while, but IIRC, the message in red on the home page once you log in is still there and indicates whether one can use GE, or instructs that they need fingerprints and to go to an office to get them done.

Need to upudaite driver's license

I was looking at my GOES profile and noticed that my driver's license has expired. It is not an enhanced DL. Also, I used Nexus/GE to enter both US and Canada after I got my renewed DL and no mention was made of it. Do I need to update it? There is no way to update it online.

Just like almost everything else about Nexus/GE, there is conflicting information again. I was looking at my profile on GOES and noticed the following message: "Global Entry Benefit: As a NEXUS member, you can now use the Global Entry kiosks located at the top 20 major U.S. international airports to enter the U.S. To use the Global Entry kiosks, you must use a valid machine readable passport. Do not use your NEXUS card in the kiosk, but you may wish to carry it with you." [emphasis mine] As we all know the machine readable part of the NEXUS card can be used on the GE kiosk...

GOES

I logged into GOES and saw my profile. I deleted a vehicle I had sold and tried to add my new Vehicle. They wanted $44.00 to add it, Is this right?

I cancelled the application to add another vehicle.

NEXUS doesn't care about vehicles anymore. In fact, at renewal interviews, they seem to be just deleting vehicle information.

Only the Mexican equivalent of NEXUS, SENTRI, cares about vehicles.

I've never seen nor heard of a charge to add a vehicle, but if the GOES website is trying to charge you, then skip it and ask the agent when you actually go in for your next interview. They'll more than likely tell you not to bother.

Thanks for that info, I appreciate the knowledge of those more experienced than I in these matters.

We got new Passports in April and GOES won't allow me to change the passport info online. Will they do that when we get our eyes scanned at Pearson or does that require an appointment with them?

No appointment necessary. You can stop by any NEXUS enrollment center and do it on a walk-in basis.
