You can check for interview availability (without needing to be logged in) at TTP - Schedule Appointment
This page includes a checkbox you can use to show locations with the soonest availability, although they tend to be few in number and near border towns.
You may also wish to consider:
Note also that a location that has literally zero availability for future interviews today, may pop up with available slots tomorrow (or even later today), presumably as people with scheduled appointments do EOA or walk-in thus freeing up their original time slot. So it may be worth checking back periodically.

You may also wish to consider:
- Enrollment on Arrival, which can be done while clearing immigration during international return to the US: Global Entry Enrollment on Arrival
- Some locations offer walk-in interviews even if you do not have an appointment: Global Entry Walk-In Interviews
- If you will be passing through MIA, their GE office nearly always has immediate availability and is open very late.

So it does seem to work as I'm definitely getting notified about things that weren't there when I looked earlier today.
But there are a couple caveats:
- There's a ton of noise (I've probably gotten 20+ alerts already today in the couple hours since I signed up). It seems that whenever somebody grabs the first-available appointment at a location, I get a new alert about the new "first-available" appointment at that location. It would be nice if I could specify date ranges or something so I wasn't getting alerts about Chicago for October when I won't be there until late December. I guess I might be able to do some email filtering at my end so that it auto-deletes most of the emails that aren't relevant to me.... But because it only tells you "first available" you also don't know if someone just canceled a single appointment or if the location just opened up a new week or month of appointments for booking.
- Appointments get grabbed very quickly and I'm not sure how often it scans for the new appointments. While poking around on the actual "reschedule" page on the government website, for example, I noticed an appointment popped up for JFK tomorrow that went away a minute or two later, and I never got an email alert for that one.

How long ago did you do it? There are a couple of recent reports in the Walk-Ins thread where folks are saying they were turned away. I might be willing to brave the Van Wyck if I knew I could get it done, but schlepping there to be turned away doesn't sound worthwhile (I'd rather just do it on arrival when we come back in February).

I signed up this morning for ttpalerts.com, which is $12 for a month of alerts and doesn't seem to limit the number of locations you can monitor. I initially put in the NYC-area locations (JFK, EWR and Bowling Green) plus AUS and ORD and the Chicago Field Office as we'll likely be visiting AUS and CHI before our international trip. It seems to send an alert whenever the first-available appointment at a location changes. So far today Chicago seems to have opened a whole bunch of appointments in late October and a smattering in November and December, and AUS opened almost all of December (I'm pretty sure both those locations were showing "no appointments available" when I checked this morning). I also got an alert about one at EWR this afternoon (someone must have canceled).
So it does seem to work as I'm definitely getting notified about things that weren't there when I looked earlier today.

Yes, earlier this week I think CBP must have added staffing to a few locations. JFK and Bowling Green in NYC opened up full schedules for most of October and November, where they had zero availability through end of schedule last week.

I applied to renew my Global Entry membership over the weekend. Less than 24 hours later they responded with conditional approval-- great news! Now I only have to complete an interview (WHY??) -- horrible news! There is nothing available that does not require a costly trip or a ridiculous wait.
Zoom interviews? None available through the end of 2023.
San Francisco office? Also nothing.
Las Vegas? Nothing.
Portland, OR? Nothing.
San Diego? Nothing.
Los Angeles? There's an appointment available 51 weeks from now.
There are appointments sooner if I'm willing to fly a lot further and on a weekday. This is a farce.
I imagine, though, that additional appointment slots get loaded into the system periodically. I observed that happening last time I did this ridiculous dance 5 years ago. Does anyone know when new slots usually become available?

I have literally spent 5 days refreshing every 30-60 seconds manually for about 10 hours a day. I see a few places pop up for 1 minute or less like SFO once in a while or SEA, but LAS or LAX not at all to say nothing for other major areas.

after receiving my conditional approval for renewal i was unable to find a location that worked with my next six months worth of travel. Fortunately i had an international trip scheduled so i used the Interview on arrival option at LAX. it was a TWO hour wait in a slow moving line (most movement was from people giving up and leaving the queue). They repeated announced recommendation to use zoom. I tried to book zoom several times including while i was waiting in line, gave up after finding no availability for the next FIFTEEN years. Complained to agent when i had my interview, he said that he thought only Ontario California does the zoom interviews and only when they have free time

If you are ok with fiddling with python code, there are plenty of options available online (github) that you can use to set it up on your PC/MAC. I was able to set it up to and managed to snag appointments within a week for the whole family.

When I click on an available appointment slot, the mouse cursor has a circle with a diagonal line in it, and I can't open the link. Why would that happen?
