Wow, that's a long time to get approved. I applied September 2022 and barely got approved this week, not as long as you though.

am I reading it wrong? 450 days is about I year and 3 months. You applied sep 2022 and approved December 2023. Isn't that about the same? Why sounds like you are much faster than 450 days

Wow. I didn't realize conditional approval can take that long! I was wondering when I should apply since I don't really need it at the moment. How long does one have to complete the interview after receiving conditional approval before the application is deemed withdrawn/rescinded?

If I were you, I would apply ASAP. It is $50. Many credit cards now reimburse this application fee.

You have five years to completed the interview.

From the Canada Border Services Agency news release:

  • After being conditionally approved for NEXUS, applicants have up to five years to complete both the U.S. and Canadian interviews. A decision regarding their NEXUS application will not be made until both interviews are complete.

Which ones reimburse NEXUS? I have one that reimburses GE or Precheck.

Chase Sapphire Reserve. Check with your credit card issuer. For the longest time, Chase SR only reimburses GE and PreCheck. They now do for at least a year.

I think all the Chase cards that used to reimburse GE or Precheck now also reimburse NEXUS. I didn't check them all, but the United cards (Explorer, Quest, Club) and the IHG Premier card do. I think there is at least one other bank that has a card that now reimburses for NEXUS, but I don't recall which one.

Thanks! My spouse actually has an UA Explorer card. I guess that makes it a no brainer to apply.
