Conditionally approved!!!!

Happy to report that after 536 days (applied on September 30, 2021), both my children (aged 2.5yo and 3.5yo) were conditionally approved on March 20, 2023.

I went to schedule the interview and I noticed that the Montréal Trudeau Airport NEXUS Enrollment Center was available so I booked two appointments mid-June.

The interview confirmation letter sats exactly what the press release of CBSA/CBP mentioned by Kaasschaaf says: the NEXUS Enrollment Center is staffed only with Canadian CBSA officers. The interview by U.S. CBP will be performed at the U.S. Preclearance as we fly back. It says to give ourselves enough time for the interview before boarding our flight.

It will be nice to get some feedback about the 2-step interview, and learn more about how the U.S. CBP portion in the Preclearance zone is performed (how long it takes etc...).

We are still not back to normal where U.S. CBP officers would be inside the airport NEXUS Enrollment Center next to the CBSA.

Congrats. The wait time is insane.

I applied in December 2021 and still nothing. My Global Entry is expiring in July, and I cannot renew it while my Nexus application is being processed, but after waiting 16 months, I do not want to cancel the Nexus application.

Wife applied for Nexus for the first time in July of 2022
Got conditional approval in Early January
If memory serves correct, the card came in the mail in about 10 days or so after the interview.

They said to call CBP and have them check the application.
I called this number today, Thursday, April 06, 2023. Someone answered almost instantly. He was very nice and helpful. He looked up my application, and said that my application is in the 2nd to the last stage, and that I'm ahead of most of the 300,000 waiting applicants. I have no idea what "2nd to the last stage" means, but it sounds good!

I applied in September 2022, so I'm only 7 months in at the moment. We'll see what happens.

US Citizen, already Global Entry for years.

I applied for Nexus in early December 2021.
I just (Sun, Apr 16th 2023) received the email notification informing me of a change -> application finally moved to Conditionally Approved.

Interview scheduled in Blaine, WA in 1 month from now. I would have preferred the remote interview to save me the drive but none available.

Just noticed the above. This should be re-worded imho. Instead of Attend it should be Schedule.

Refresh your browser frequently searching for a remote interview. Very possible one becomes available before your scheduled in person interview. Good luck.

Unless something changed very recently, remote interviews are not available for NEXUS enrollment interviews, they are possible only for Global Entry renewal.

Please refer to the following thread:

Gotcha

The site does let me choose the Remote Interview option and browser for appointments. There just aren’t none showing.

If Nexus remote appointments aren’t possible they should ideally disable that option altogether for Nexus applications.

Update here! Today, Monday, April 24, 2023, I received an email about a status change. I had actually logged in to the website earlier today but it was still pending. After receiving the email, I logged in again and sure enough, I was conditionally approved! I had applied on September 21, 2022, so 7 months ago. I am a new Nexus customer, but I have Global Entry now.

I made an appointment at Detroit Enrollment Center NEXUS. I'm doing it in June, but appointments there are wide open as soon as tomorrow.

I applied on Dec 17, 2021. 16 months!!! Finally received conditional approval this morning, Apr 24, 2023.
Then I scheduled an appointment at 4pm today at Blaine. quick interview, just updated my information, and ask why I need to travel frequently.
Then My TTP dashboard updated the status to Approved after the interview. They said I will receive the card in 10 days.

Interviews at the Detroit Enrollment Center are super quick and easy. Myself and most family members that have gone have been in and out in 5 mins.

Congrats! That's exciting, I am December 2022 filer. Gives me hope that ours might get approved before our GE expires

Nexus stil pending after 8 months

Was hoping process would speed up, applied in November 2022 after receiving Global Entry card. Global Entry first than Nexus Application is the way to go. Costs more but at least you have Global Entry while waiting for Nexus.

I had the interview in Blaine this morning. Extremely quick -less than 10 minutes-. The front-desk woman asked me for my Nexus interview letter -which I did not print-, for a split second I panicked. However, she was able to get my TSA Pre number from my Global Entry card, that was good enough for her. A few minutes later the US agent called me to his booth and asked for my US passport, US driver's license, Global Entry card, US naturalization certificate, and my foreign passport. Glad I actually thought to bring all of them. I provided my updated postal address (when I applied 18 months ago I was living at a different address), they took my fingerprints, they asked if I've ever been arrested, why I want to have Nexus, asked if my live-in partner already has Nexus (yes) and done. The Canadian agent sitting right by the US agent just had me read a list of things to remember to remain compliant, and then briefly explained how to use the Nexus lane. My TTP Application Status change to APPROVED about 1 hour later.

Honestly imho no reason for this appointment to have to be in-person since US authorities already have everything they asked from me today -including fingerprints- and the US agent literally handed them to the Canadian agent in front of me.

Glad that this 18-month process is now finally over. I didn't think this day would come. We are celebrating with a day trip to Wreck Breach west of Vancouver on the first sunny weekend after my Nexus card arrives.
