The agent was very nice and said she would have been willing to review his application on the spot and do the interview, but after checking their records, said she couldn't help us because his background check already had been assigned out to another agent and, thus, could not be reassigned to her to process right then and there. She said my son's case is part of a five-month backlog of applications, and that the order in which they're processed is completely random and not necessarily by date received. I thought that was a bit odd, but if that's what it is, that's what it is.
So, we continue to wait. Also, you said "Canadian customs agent"; do you live in Canada? I too agree that from the volunteered posting here it seems they are not processed in the order they are received. |

That is really an interesting piece of information... that she could've done the background check on the spot? How/where? I didn't know there places you can apply in person.

(He's 13 with no criminal history and no international travel. There's no real background to vet for him). But since my son's application was already on some other agent's To Do list, there was nothing she could do to expedite his conditional approval. So, we did only my wife's interview and left. I appreciated them even trying to see if it could be done.
The horizontal axis is the date applied (in order beginning around late June through early October.) The vertical axis is the number of days waited. A pretty clear grouping emerged. There wasn't many of over the 35-40 day mark, but I would imagine we'll start seeing reports posted over the next week or so. I already found a few, but was too lazy to update the graph now that my son was approved. ;) https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...7d376a936e.png |
My Conditional Approval
I just found this site today and, thanks to advice seen here,I checked my application this afternoon and found that I was conditionally approved.I applied on 9/28 but cannot be sure exactly when I was approved because I hadn't checked my application for a couple of weeks.I'll probably wait until after Thanksgiving to go up to Vermont for the interview.

Looking at the horizonal axis, it goes from 0..70. So does 70 correspond to 70 days after late June? Also, is the vertical axis business days or overall days? |

I am confused.

The horizontal axis is the number of data points. The first one is from June, and they needed to wait 89 days. Second datapoint 7/3; waited 10 days. Third datapoint 7/3, waited 62 days. And so on. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...6753e3c089.png |
I'm at one month and counting. Still "Pending review".
|
68 Business days for me, 54 for wife and kids still "pending review". I wonder if I can get my money back, the last time I came across, the Nexus line was 30+ deep and the regular was 0. Seems to be a worsening trend for this and I'm guessing it's not going to get better based on the waiting time for applications

Applied 6-Aug-18 - it has been 76 business days (I'm Canadian) my daughter applied same time and was approved early Sept. - do they ever lose your application? Is there anyone you can call to investigate if it never comes. It seems everyone has received their approval before 76 days on here so now starting to wonder... nothing new on my dashboard again today

That's not what I meant. My son and wife both applied online at the same time on August 3. My wife got conditional approval on September 29, but we heard nothing about my son. We live in the southeast USA, and had a family trip planned to Niagara Falls the first week of October. When my wife went for her interview at Ft. Erie, Ontario, we simply asked the interviewer if she could see what the hold up was with my son's application. She looked into it while we were sitting there by checking their computer database. Had his case not already been assigned to someone else, she would've "pulled it from the stack" of pending unassigned applications and done it right there, simply for our convenience.
