Depends how much of CBP is considered essential. Obviously, much of CBP is considered essential. There are still agents at the ports of entry, so CBP hasn't (and won't) fully shut down. I'm just not sure how it goes in terms of processing, if the people who process NEXUS/GE are still on the job today. US passport processing is shut down, but of course that is through the State Department, and not DHS/CBP.

Probably any longer discussion best left for the main NEXUS thread, and politically-oriented discussion to OMNI/PR of course.

I have sent out an initial application back in end Oct 2017 and still waiting for conditional approval as of today. I do not know what is taking so long. Please advise on the current processing time

Yes, 3+ months is longer than normal, although not outside the extremes other people experience (as you can see above). But we'll need more information.

It sounds like you applied by mail. Is that the case? If so, just to be sure, have you received a communication that indicates that your application was actually received and is being processed?

I filled out an application online. Is there a contact number to inquire about it?

Because you applied online, and are presumably actually looking at your status on the TTP website, you can be quite sure that your application was actually received.

Calling is unlikely to speed up the review process, especially because you're within the general time frame for reviewing applications.

(Were you born/did you live in another country? Your username seems to suggest India. Citizenships/residencies in a country other than the US or Canada can slow down the review process.)

If you really want to call, here are are some phone numbers for the application center or CBP hotlines, ranked in rough order of usefulness, based on other peoples' reports:

If you can't reach any of them, you can call either your local Nexus enrolment centre or your local Global Entry enrollment center to try to ask for information. But individual CBSA/CBP officers are even less likely to provide you with useful information about your application pre-interview stage.
