But 3.45am LA time is 11.45am Jersey, which is about the time retired people get up, isn't it?

Great TR so far Uncle T, glad you enjoyed the National Express to LHR, better than having to wait ages for a sober driver to get you there. Wow I certainly would have stayed in bed longer in LA rather than getting up at that insane time of day to get to the AA lounge. Hotel looks lovely, now looking forward to the next episodes.^

At the fag end of my existence, it's just wonderful to be able to do these things at sensible prices ... for which I endlessly thank BAEC, and especially FT and all the good helpful people who inhabit this corner of cyber-space!

I'm getting slightly worried:
- UncleT went somewhere new and liked it (at least thus far).
- UncleT used the National Express and liked it.
- UncleT went through the new security at T5 South and Green Lighted it.
- UncleT tried the BaxterStorey catering and liked it.
- UncleT used the A380 and liked it.
- UncleT used the new Express Passports machines at LAX and, well you get the drift.
I do hope this Golden status isn't changing your dyspeptic character, dear UncleT. Where would we be without you? Welcome home. I look forward to your next TP run to Baku.
However Hiddy, you will have noted the not-yet Golden Couple were in the lounge at 0520 for an 0805 departure, I think they could have had a little longer in bed really.

Ahh, dear c-w-s, it was indeed perfectly acceptable to date. Any dyspepsia will be reserved for Part 4, along with general impressions of Waikiki (nod to Polomarc)
As to the early arrival at LAX T4, we have a deeply ingrained habit of never being late/rushed when events are under our control. So an early arrival in the Lounge simply means there was no problem/delay at: Hilton Checkout, Hilton shuttle bus, AA bag-drop, LAX security*. We were walking into the unknown, and were damned well going to be sure that nothing impeded our onward progress **.
* Not that TSA would ever be lax, but you know what I mean
** More sleep would have been nice! As it was, we woke stupidly early and just decided to get on with what had to be done.
