My greatest problem is WHERE do I plug in everything that has to be recharged?
I need plugs for the PC,PDA,Digital camera,Mobile and sometimes one or two more.

I always have to sacrifice one or two lamps in order to get everything hooked-up and you find me the first 20 minutes of my stay on my knees under some table to get to the unreachable socket.

Please get me sockets at table level...

A bath robe should be mandatory, too

I use the shower cap to wrap up the remote. Do they ever get cleaned?

I'm happy with a coffee maker but I'd like more creamer and sugar. I always end up stealing from the decaf pack for my second cup.

I also like a fridge or mini bar so I can stash a few things.

Iron/ironing board

1. Conditioner (am I the only person who needs that stuff for her hair?)
2. more power outlets
3. real lightswitches, I go nuts with these turn-knob things who work only on occassion
4. Body lotion

I love when the hotel has good information about the area in their little books they put on your table. A map would be even better.
The Seneca in Chicago complied to everything besides #3, heck, they stacked an extra off all those little bathroom goodies in one of the drawers! (the good Lord&Mayfair stuff, I love it)

More wastebaskets.

Second the request for a decent local paper instead of USAToday (aka the McPaper)

Essentials: iron and ironing board, coffeemaker, mending kit (one came in very handy the morning of a job interview when I had to sew on a cuff button!). Sufficient electrical outlets near the Internet connection. Half the time I end up sitting on my bed with my laptop because that's the only place with a phone line and electrical outlets in close proximity.

I've encountered a few CD players, which are nice- unfortunately I didn't know ahead of time so didn't bring any of my CDs.

Lose the Stocked MiniBar.

Supply a set of Cheap Earplugs. E.A.R. can be had for about $.65 each. Buying in bulk would probably make them less than the Shower Cap.

I vote for more easily accessible electrical outlets.

I'm at the Westin Chosun now which pretty much has it all. In my room there is a desktop PC with free internet, a LAN port for my laptop also free, a free cell phone (pay 50 cents per minute to use), an umbrella, a VCR and all the rest of the usual amenitites.

Plugs,

Bulgari toileteries, soaps, shampoo, bath gel,...,

bottled water both sparkling and still 1 liter per day,

nice magazines and maps about the local area,

free internet access,

a good concierge,

free local and 800 calls, etc.

I want it all and then add something to it to make it a special visit !

Better and more hair conditioner. That tiny little bottle of the cheap stuff just doesn't cut it and sometimes they don't even have that.

I don't understand why they can supply shower gel, soap, a shower cap etc. but rarely supply any toothpaste. I can't imagine those tiny sample sizes like the dentist gives out are all that expensive.

The Halekulani in Honolulu does. All guest rooms have a bowl of fruit as a welcome amenity and it comes with a service for two of a small plate, silverware (knife, fork and spoon), and linen napkins.

Slippers are on my wishlist. I've only found them at The Halekulani and at The Garden City Hotel in New York.

Better TV screens. I just got a new one and it makes the ones I see in the hotels I stay in 100 nights a year look pitiful.

Oh, and video-in on the room TV. I know hotels want to make money on PPV but I have a serious DVD collection I'd like to see someday.

Oh and while we're asking for the impossible.. TiVo.

The Hyatt Bethesda has VCRs in at least some of the rooms. One of the few hotels I've seen with this.
