As this is a general travel-related topic as opposed to a Mileage Run discussion, I'll move this to TravelBuzz.

P.O.S. magazine.

No value to the typical flyer. Nothing there you can't get here. Just an elaborate version of the Good deal, premium fares thread.

first class flyer worth the money?

I was looking at the headlines from www.firstclassflyer.com and was wondering if anyone feels its worth subscribing.

Also does anyone know about the business/first class fare to AKL/SYD for
$1600 that is mentioned?

I think, based on the discussions of the site here in the past, that the consensus is that most of the information you pay for there is what you'd find here on FT for free. Some of these threads include:

First Class Flyer Newsletter?

Just got an ad for "First Class Flyer" (electronic) Newsletter
http://www.firstclassflyer.com/subsc...&OVKEY=&OVMTC=

Matt Bennett is the frontman. Claims he gets you upgraded for nada which is possibly WAY more work than it is worth in the long run. Anybody have any intel or advice? Has free trial subscription but I suspect 'free' is a relative term.
Thanks in advance,
Law5gal.

I've seen the ad for this as well. I'm pretty sure if you can't find the information on FT it's not to be had and you can get it for much less on here.

If you search around FT you will find other posts on this subject. As I recall it is not very favorably reviewed.

"First Class Flyer" Newsletter

Does anyone on this forum subscribe to Matthew Bennett's 'First Class Flyer' newsletter? I have, for the past 9 months or so, and it occassionally has some interesting info. What caused me to cancel yesterday, however, was that in spite of the fact that my subscription is paid through April '09, my credit card was charged for another year, without my approval (not cheap at $197 per!)

I certainly don't. To me it's a waste as any person can find the required info right here on FT. In addition, most experienced FF's here already know way more about their program than most (and I'm not talking about general, high-level rules... I'm talking about the most obscure minutia).

He did the same thing to me and got really defensive and aggressive when I called and questioned it. I was pretty furious.

Brutal. I wonder if there is a flame thread on him somewhere here on FT...

Totally true, with FT, you'll learn all you need to know, and if you can't find it, just start a thread. Usually within an hour or two, you'll get your answer in one of two ways:

a. In the thread.

b. From a snooty post referring you to a previous thread where it was already answered.
