I'll move this over to TravelBuzz for a more general discussion of an individual travel web site.

i'd say the same. why pay if you can get info for free on FT

the examples he is giving:

With this in mind, American Airlines offers a fast-track program allowing you to reach the elite-level of its frequent-flyer AAdvantage program. Request the promotion and earn 5,000 points in 90 days (beginning on the 1st or 16th of any month) and you'll be accelerated to Gold status - equal to the annual requirement of 25,000 miles. Or, earn 10,000 points to be accelerated to Platinum status - equal to the annual requirement of 50,000 miles. Once you have logged the points, you will be granted immediate status for the level accomplished - valid through February of the following year.
that's not really new for FTers

i have subscribed for years, and am happy

once a month i get a pdf-link with an 8-page newsletter

yes, all the info is on FT, and probably earlier

but on FCF i get it all in one place-no jumping from forum to forum where i might miss an interesting point

the discussion/comparisons of I/D programs and comparisons, or a RTW C cheapie on a strange combo (VS/NH) is always interesting

and- it's a business expense

but- i fly paid (discounted) business or first, not upgraded from economy-so that may be the ideal FCF subscriber

If you do a search, you'll find a number of threads on this topic. Most people agree it's not worth the price.

I've been a subscriber for 10+ months. I won't renew, but felt I got my $100 worth. Never did actually save money with it though.

I have seen ads for their newsletter. Is it worth the cost?

If you use search, you'll find a number of threads on this. For most people on FT, it's not.

Doh! sorry confused this with flyfirstclass.com. Seem like similar things, and I assume that they both fall under the same category.

Does this seem right, moderator? Is this a good use of FT to use it to pass around a newsletter without paying for it?

First Class Flyer e-zine?

First off, I apologize if this has already been answered, but the search function isn't working for me for some reason. Second, if this is the wrong forum for this post, moderator, please move as you see fit.

Has anyone heard/subscribed to this first class flyer e-zine? Is there anything they could tell me/us that isn't already shared by our wonderful co-FTers? Here's the link:

I've subscribed to them before but honestly, you can get much much more info and better deals for FT. Nevertheless, if you are a business executive with little time (or anyone else that fits this bill) and have the means/ support from a corp etc, this is a good way to keep abreast of decent First and Business Class fares. So, if you don't know that it's cheaper to buy a premium class ticket in BKK, or that from the US to Tokyo is more expensive than from US to TPE, then this will serve you well. Otherwise, FT is several levels above in finesse, but like anything, you must invest the time.
