FirstClassFlyer.com / First Class Flyer site (consolidated)

http://www.firstclassflyer.com/

This website was suggested in the Frequent Flyer Crier email this week. Does anyone find the $97/year subscription worthwhile?

Is this place for real?

There's nothing on there that you couldn't figure out from FT. It's just rewritten and distilled as journalism.

I was hoping for feedback from someone who had paid the $97.

I do agree that the free material on the site comes as no surprise to people who follow FT. However, I did think that the site's focus was interesting and that the articles were helpful even if not surprising.

dave99 -- You can click on "Download free sample issue" and see for yourself what kind of stuff you are gonna get if you pay $97. IMHO, Flyertalk beats it hands down.

From my casual observation, some of their stories are dated, i.e. "Vanugard offers a First Class Cabin" when the Vanguard press release is dated July 17 of last year.

My hunch: save your money and get an Inside Flyer subscription. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

I particularly liked the sample issue's reference to Thai's "Royal Orchard" ff program.

I found a couple peices of information on the website and in the sample issue that were valuable.

I like the guy's bio...

He was a pitcher for the Kansas City Royals in the minor leagues.

I love it!

I found the bit about booking in rows 7-10 of a 3clAAss and getting a free upgrade to J on some domestic trips interesting.

This has been discussed in the AA forum on Flyertalk many, many times over several years (including specific flight numbers, difference between 767-200 and -300 seating, etc). And keep in mind that while you get better seats, your service (meals, etc.) is no better than in the back of the bus.

I find it hard to believe that AA is doing this at all. They have an airplane that is a 3-class setup and don't sell the Biz so they can upgrade all the status and high paying travelers.

It almost seems like a UA E+ to me.

Does anyone have an opionion on whether this is worth the money? I do enough travel that getting upgrades is something I think about but an not obsessed about. I was just wondering if there was information that was worth the $97.

Thanks
