Empress,

I think you're probably right. I just found this site earlier this week and I have already learned a lot. Of course, I still need a glossary to figure out the buzzwords. Some of what I read is not in the online glossary so I will have to be vigilant.

Next up is figuring out how to maximize my United Miles....

Thanks

I coughed up the $97. While I agree with Empress that FT is a great resource, some of these newsletters offer info more succinctly on a onestop shopping basis versus having to troll a bunch of FT forums.

Still, I know the newsletter guys get stuff from FT as well, so for sure its a great resource.

Ditto. I just joined First Class Flyer and have found it informative, concise and enjoyable to read. Between First Class flyer and flyertalk, you will be a pro in no time!

I found the ideas on the free parts of the FirstClassFlyer.com site to be accurate but overstated and overhyped and full of arrogant infomercial-type statements like "using the methods we've revealed" when presenting strategies that are well-known to FTers. It reminds me of Tom Parsons' bestfares site -- on steriods.

I am always suspicious when someone shows up with some tiny number of posts to say they have discovered a new site - in every case I know of, diligent Flyertalkers have tracked the origin to an operator of the site.

After all, if someone cares enough to have discovered a new FF site, how can someone so diligent only have two(2) posts on FT, which is by far the central clearing house for FF information?

If you want to save some time it may be helpful. It's just a business - if it doesn't deliver it won't be around - so if you feel it may be of use, why not? I did see a few things in the demo newsletter that I didn't know before.

After browsing through the site (what's offered for free anyway), it made me smile.

I'll certainly say this; the guy has a few good ideas. And dare I say, I'm surprised a FlyerTalker hasn't picked up on a few of them.

I've looked through the site and haven't found anything new. Am I missing something?

That summarizes my opinion right down to the overstated and overhyped comment. I wondered if they were simply reading FT and posting the same information with more emphasis and perhaps exaggeration?

Yes, there was one "new" idea I hadn't seen before. It involved several AA flights that have a business class cabin, but don't sell business class seats. This means that you can buy an economy class seat, and as an AA elite you can request one of the first few rows and end up in a business class seat. He lists the flights where this is the case, there are several.

I, too, checked out the site and did not find anything new. But, let's give the guy a chance to see what service he can provide.
