Seat Maps beyond 330 days

One of the GDSs that ExpertFlyer uses has recently made changes that now allow us to return Seat Maps and Flight Details for flights that are more than 331 days in the future for airlines that support it.

If you have any questions please email [email protected]

^ and thanks for the update!

FWIW, I believe that the new threshold is 362 days in the future, as Sabre now matches Amadeus (and Travelport and PARS) in handling flights up to 362 days out.

However, some (most? all?) airlines hosted by Sabre (e.g. AA, AS, B6, HA and VX in the US) still only publish 331 days out (B6 will publish even less for their own reasons), probably because a whole spaghetti of software needs to be updated to handle the extra 31 days now available in the distribution part of the Sabre system.

You're welcome!

That's correct, 362 days for airlines that support it. If the Sabre hosted airlines choose to add the additional time in the future then it will be reflected on ExpertFlyer, but for now it is just the airlines that already support the extra time (BA, LH, etc).

We do not have access to the Economy Classic award, however we wanted to at least make the ones we do have available via our Award & Upgrade search tool. Please email us if you have any questions.

I don't see O listed, the upgrade class is now Z. Is that the right catgeory for classic awards?

You replied to a 3 year old post. The KLM award classes and their published visibility has since changed and is reflected in the listing on our website.

Well, I have an email from Expertflyer saying they don't show business class award availability anymore due to KLM not publishing it.

That letter is dated today.

If the listing on the website was clearer, I wouldn't have responded to the three year old post.

Yes we replied to your email which you also sent at the same time we replied to your FT post. How was the website unclear? We always list the currently supported award and upgrade classes both in the Award & Upgrade tool and on the listing on the Help/FAQ page. That list changes over time as airlines add or remove data from being publicly available. The latest listing is always on the website. If an award class or airline isn't listed then it isn't supported.

I'm obviously not as smart as you expertflyer folks, but here's why it was confusing to me.

1) Three years ago you announce in this thread "Master Information and Updates" that you support KLM business class award searches. I did not see anything here announcing the withdrawal.

2) The website says :

Business - Upgrade with DL SWU/Global Upgrades & Fare Class (Z).

On Al Italia, Fare Class Z is the class for looking business class awards. I did not see any information about Fare Class Z in the KLM search.

3) On this thread I asked whether fare class Z was the right fare class. Your answer just chided me on quoting a three year old post, instead of clearing up anything.

The website is unclear. The email response was clear and prompt. Your tone was surprising. Nonetheless, I love Expertflyer.

PS Still have no idea what Fare Class Z is on KLM

It looks like you found the information on the website and answered your own question as to what KLM Z class is:

If it said "Upgrade with DL SWU/Global Upgrades (Z)" I would understand that is what Z is, but the phrase "and fare class" confuses me. Maybe I'm inappropriately parsing the sentence, but I still don't quite get what the "and fare class" means.

Doesn't matter.

Z books into the Business cabin, it is used both as an Upgrade class for SWUs AND as a regular fare class for paid tickets.

Thank you for letting us know about these new features.

I'm having trouble with a specific set of circumstances for equipment change alerts. When trying to set up an alert for a BA-coded domestic flight within South Africa, operated by MN (Comair), the website returns error messages whether I specify the BA code or the MN code.

When using the BA flight number, it says:-

And when using the MN flight number (ie MN's prime flight number which is not used for selling), it says:

The error message for the BA flight number was unexpected, because the BA flight number actually works fine for seat maps and seat alerts.

Could this please be looked at?

      [Edited to add:]

I'm actually have exactly the same problem with BA-coded flights operated by CJ (BA CityFlyer).
