Now, if only Apple had a way to code the web form to turn off autocorrect, then you could do so on appropriate fields, and avoid the nonsense of autocorrecting airport and airline codes. Last time it did this, I ended up in some Catch-22 where the airline that EF thought I meant based on the autocorrect didn't fly the route, and I couldn't resubmit.

I think there is a way to specify whether a field is an autocorrectable field or not. I'm not a web developer (nor do I play one on TV, though in one of my college journalism classes, we did put together a site), but I have noticed that some fields on some sites will autocorrect while others won't.

Wish all cabins could be displayed simultaneously on the seatmaps, but at least you have added the links to view the other cabins from the seatmap display without having to go Back.

Thanks!

You're welcome!

They do and we did. If we missed a field let us know. We also implemented the numeric keyboard on flight number and date fields to make that easier as well.

Good to know. When I ended up in the Catch-22 due to autocorrect, I was using Safari on an iPhone running IOS 2 or something, so maybe the no auto-correct code isn't implemented on older iPhones? I ran into it on airport and airline fields doing a flight availability search. Although, come to think of it, this was on the full site, not the mobile one.

I'm having a problem with m.expertflyer.com on my blackberry where I can't enter enough letters. For instance in the airline code field I can only enter a single letter and in the airport field I can only enter two letter.

We're not seeing that problem on either the new or old mobile sites. Please make sure you follow these directions for the proper settings on your BlackBerry: https://www.expertflyer.com/mobile/faq.do

If that doesn't work:

Thanks I've tried to write using Contact Us from the browser but got a 500 error. I'll use the website.

Not sure why you saw an error because we received all of your emails. In any case, we confirmed with our simulators that this works. Please make sure that you follow the directions in https://www.expertflyer.com/mobile/faq.do and we will follow up with you directly via email so we can figure it out.

Hadn't logged in the mobile site for a while and I am pleasantly surprised to see the new interface.

It's a great upgrade. I like how the links are now more easily accessible by touch, and the information format is also much easier to read, which is perfect for on-the-go review of flight and upgrade status.

KLM Seat Map glitch

Seems like when you select "Premium Economy" for KLM seat maps, it shows both the PE and regular E.

To replicate: YYZ-AMS KL696

Also, MD11 seat map doesn't reflect the Seatguru overlay despite Seatguru carrying the data on its site for the shown version of MD11.

So if I just type in "expertflyer.com" on my Blackberry, it looks like I get the regular web-based site. I forget things like an initial "m." Shouldn't the program sense that the request is coming from a mobile and give me the mobile site automatically? That's what most mobile-enabled sites do.

That is because KL is returning all the PE and E rows together regardless of which cabin is requested.

See above, if the column letters and row numbers don't match up with what SeatGuru gives us for a "cabin" there won't be a match.

Not at all. We did it on purpose so those with advanced mobile devices can decide which site they want use. iOS, Android, and BlackBerry OS all have tablets (and phones) that can handle the full site as well as the mobile version.

All of these URL's work for the mobile site:
m.expertflyer.com
mobile.expertflyer.com
expertflyer.mobi
expertflyer.com/mobile

use whatever you like best. What we do automatically sense is how advanced your mobile device is and show either the WAP or touch version accordingly.

Thanks, glad you like it. That was the idea, to make the UI work better with modern touch devices so you don't have to zoom in just to click a link.

While I like that idea, and appreciate it on my iPad, I'd rather accidentally load the 'lite' version on a tablet than the relatively heavy full version on a cell connection. Any chance to default to the mobile site with a link to the full site at the bottom?

We have been taking this approach since the first mobile site was released in 2007, it's worked well thus far and changing it now would cause confusion. You can bookmark both and decide which to use as you see fit.

I like 2wheels's idea. It also seems to be the de facto standard for sites these days.

Would it at least be possible to detect that the user is accessing from a mobile device and have either a popup or a link at the bottom to the mobile site? Many times I go to sites and don't even realize they have a mobile version that might work better.

My pet peeves regarding mobile sites:
1) Sites that automatically redirect you to their mobile site with no way of accessing the full site
2) Sites that automatically redirect all incoming deep links to the mobile front page (making accessing a specific page via Google an impossibility on a mobile device)

So, if it ever comes to it, I'd like 2wheels's suggestion to be implemented, but make sure you avoid my pet peeves. ;)
