Improved Flight Alerts, MCT, MPM and other enhancements

Today we have released several new features that many of our subscribers have asked for:

"Less Than" Flight Alerts*
  • In addition to Flight Alerts that let you know when an award/upgrade/fare class is at least a certain value, now you can set an alert to notify you when inventory drops below a certain value.
  • By selecting the "Less Than" option when creating the alert, ExpertFlyer will alert you when the inventory starts to drop, allowing you to take advantage of inventory before it disappears.

Multiple Seasonality date ranges for fares*
  • For Fare Information searches using the "Show Fares for All Travel Dates" option, where applicable, if a fare has multiple published seasonality dates, they will now all be shown.

Travel Information Additions - MCT, MPM & Connecting Cities
The following searches have been added to the Travel Information search page:
  • Minimum Connect Times - with the ability to specify incoming/outgoing airlines and the connection type.
  • Maximum Permitted Mileage - that shows not only MPM but has a dedicated Calculated Sector Mileage response as well.
  • Connecting Cities - shows all predetermined connecting cities for the specified city pair. *

Booking Class Search*
  • Along with Fare Rules and Routing Rules, the Fare Information results page now has a Booking Class look-up tool.
  • This will allow you to determine the required booking classes for the fare and any specific exceptions.
  • You can also specify a secondary airline to show booking class information for segments flown by carriers other than the fare owner.

Extended Information/Comments for all airlines in Flight Status
  • There is now a "View Additional Comments" link at the bottom of every Flight Status result. Clicking it will get the raw airline comments for the flight for most airlines.
  • For example:
    Results from ExpertFlyer.com
    Code:

    Flight Status Search:

Ability to easily copy and share results
  • As seen above, you can now click on the "Share Results" link at the top of every response page which will let you easily copy and share ExpertFlyer results in a nicely formatted way.
  • Results can be exported in Text, HTML, CSV, or BB Code formats and either copied to your clipboard or saved to a file.

* Exclusive ExpertFlyer.com and Premium level features

We hope that you find these new features helpful in your travel planning. As always, any issues or feedback can be sent to us at [email protected]

You're welcome. That problem should be fixed now so please try again. If you have any issues please send us an email.

Alas, you still have not considered adding the one feature that would genuinely make searching for awards go much faster: the ability to request that only flights with availability>0 in any requested class be listed. It's an easy change to make, based on my knowledge of web programming at least, and it would make searching for award space a lot faster.

ExpertFlyer can already do that. On the results page, click the Filter Search Results link at the top, select only the class you want to see, then uncheck the "Show Flights with No Availability" option and click Apply Filter.

OK, glad to hear it, that makes it worthwhile to renew for me!

Hmm. Have had trouble accessing EF for the last hour or so from multiple Internet connections (and other sites are working fine). Web page just shows as "connecting." (It does respond to pings, though.)

http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.c...xpertflyer.com concurs. ;)

Any news?

Down for me too right now.

inlanikai May 30, 2011 10:45 am

Working fine here. ^

Expertflyer was down this morning

This has not been a fun Expertflyer day for me. It was down (or extremely extremely slow) for hours and hours this morning -- all on a busy travel day when I really wanted to use it.

Another question for those of you that understand some of these differences. DL1006 LAS-SLC shows 2 seats available in first and 9 in coach available using the "View Upgrade List". Expertflyer is showing F1 P0 A0 Y0 B0 M0 H0 Q0 K0 L0 U0 T0 E0. Indeed the Delta web site is selling only that one F seat. Why would "View Upgrade List" be so far off?

There may have been network connectivity issues this morning but they appear to have been resolved now.

In the future, if you find you're having an issue please email us as that will bring any issues to our attention sooner.

I used Twitter. Do you not monitor your twitter feed? I couldn't even get to your web site to find the correct email address to send an email to.

Of course we do, but not as a primary method of urgent support issues, especially on a holiday weekend. The email address is [email protected] and is noted in the first post on this thread.

I set up some alerts to monitor UA saver award availability on a couple of routes... will these alerts work? I thought UA blocked expertflyer from this a couple years back. nO?
