The moving map? No specific GUI library, just raw OpenGL. Back when the tool was developed (over 13 years ago) there were no suitable libraries for drawing maps quickly enough. The code is shared with a commercial project I was working on back in the day.

I started to look at this app and found it very out of date. My wife and I fly to southern Africa and there have been several airline changes due to Covid and the net impact is this app is pretty well useless to us until you get an update.
On a positive note, I was easily able to load and execute the app directly on my Linux system (Ubuntu 20.04) using the Linux Wine app.

Here's an alternative that I've been using for a while: https://www.flightconnections.com/

That is the most up to date graphical flight map I have seen. But the ads drive me bonkers and I am not going to pay for showing me where I can fly from an airport and then show me an accurate schedule when I select a city pair. I already have an EF subscription which gives me a lot more (for about double the cost).
