Searches currently not working:
- Upgrades - AY, BA, EK, EY, IB, QR, VS
- Awards - AY, BA, IB, EY, QR, VS
To search AA upgrades:
- Use the Award & Upgrade tool
- Only search for individual segments (set the "Connection Preference" drop-down to "Direct/Non-Stop only"). Flight results that are part of a connection won't show the upgrade version of C or A inventory because AA only files upgrade inventory as individual, not married, segments. (Married segments show revenue inventory instead of upgrade inventory.)
- To avoid confusion, check the "Exclude Codeshares" box, as AA awards and upgrades are not valid on codeshares.

I am checking fare class availability on an A3 flight for the summer, but there are no U,P,T fares listed at all for this flight on EF (or offered for sale on OTAs). Does this mean that there are no U,P,T fares offered for this flight, or is it possible that A3 could add them later? These fares seem to have be filled for this route, but they are not showing for that date.
Just to be clear, I am not referring to T0 (T=0), for example, but rather U,P,T discounted fares not listed at all.

Is there any way at all to search for corporate fares under a known account code on EF?
For instance, BE publishes its bag-inclusive fares under the account code BAG and its flexible fares under account code NEW. As far as I can see anyone can look at those fares if they know the account code. [See http://www.flybe.com/pdf/trade/Bag-a...n%20161213.pdf]
Last week I was trying to help an Amex agent book me a seat under these bag-inclusive fares but there was some misunderstanding about the rules I was unable to tidy up without access to them.

Alternatively, the airline doesn't make these buckets publicly available. Access to them may be restricted to specific agents or even only the airline itself.
This is commonly done only with redemption/award buckets but JAL does it with a few revenue buckets on domestic flights as well.

Yes it could be ... but this would get very messy. It's more likely the buckets are never offered on those specific flights.

Has the ExpertFlyer subscriber database been stolen or hacked?
I got an email today, purporting to come from EF and sent to a name/email combination matching my EF subscription, inviting me to take a survey that asks whether I cheat on my expenses, have extramarital affairs or experiment with drugs.

Hello and greetings..
I decided to post my question here in the EF (expert flyer) thread due to the fact it concerns EF even those its about BA/AA upgrades . I am searching for award upgrades using BA Avois from LHR-PHL BA 67 (AA6130)on 19 Dec. Although EF doesn't show availbility for BA, I was trying to look under AA. The search came back with
First-Upgrade (?) First-upgrade using miles/SWU or restricted purchases First on all 2 class <Domestic flights. There are 5 available
Does this mean that if I had points with AAdvantage and can use these points to upgrade the BA flight and call AA or can I call the BA Gold line and request the upgrade using Avois even though BA doesn't show ?
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Flyiboy
Ps. Never upgraded before so I'm curious. Oh BTW I'm flying in Club World

What you are seeing is a consequence of some classes of service having different meaning for different airlines. So on AA the classes "A" and "C" are used to represent classes into which you can upgrade (to first from business and to business from economy respectively). However BA does not use A and C to represent upgrade classes, they could be (if they choose) classes for which they will sell a ticket (paricularly A... a lot of airlines use A to represent a discounted first class ticket).
So when ExpertFlyer reports back an 'A' availability on AA that is really a codeshare on BA it does not mean that it is a class into which you can upgrade because BA don't use A for that (they use Z and U, same classes as for awards)
